- Kallio (literally "the rock") is a district and a neighbourhood in Helsinki, the capital of Finland, located on the eastern side of the Helsinki peninsula about one kilometre north from the city centre. It is one of the most densely populated areas in Finland. Kallio has, more than any other district in Helsinki, a reputation as a "bohemian" and liberal area. The area has a heterogeneous population and many bars.
Walk begins from Hakaniemi market square and ends up in south side of the Alppiharju district.

Nice to see Kallio again! Hakaniemi market hall, Karhupuisto and Kotiharjun sauna I remember from previous walks. Kallio church looks beautiful even from distance, Kallio library is good from close distance:)) It was very interesting and funny moment in 26:23 exactly before to make turn on Vaasankatu , a guy with pink scouter was crossing from your right side and a second later there was a woman with pink dress :)) Great walk!

Jeez, Kallio on hyvä asuinpaikaksi (itse vuodesta 2000). Täällä on elämää, ihmiskunnan kirjavuuttakin laidasta laitaan, aivan toisin kuin pystyyn kuolleessa Töölöössä ja Eirassakin.
Jos täällä rupeaa hankaluuksia varta vasten etsimään, niin niitä on kyllä helppo löytää. Jos kohtelee ihmisiä kunnolla ja kohteliaasti, niin metsähän aina vastaa sinne huudettaessa. Ei luulisi olevan vaikeaa tämä.
I played live around Kallio more then a year ago. I heard it was a stabbing area and vary dangerous. I was in living in Kalajama, Tallinn in those old soviet buildings for fisherman I think. Anyways I love Estonia but of Kallio is dangerous then I am living in a dream. Both countries are very safe even late at night. I still think as Finland as perfect and Estonia like it's Mexico to Finland but super safe. Great video.
Kiitos hyvästä videosta. Näissä maisemissa vietin lapsuuteni 50-luvulla ja nuoruuteni 60-luvulla. On maisemat muuttuneet 70 vuodessa totisesti. Olen ollut Suomesta pois 20 vuotta, siinäkin ajassa on muutosta tapahtunut paljon. Tämä on kuin portti rakkaisiin maisemiin, paras video mitä on koskaan tehty Kalliosta. ❤❤
