  • www.newpig.com/absorbent-socks - The Original Absorbent PIG Sock stops spills from spreading. From oil to water to gasoline, PIG Absorbent Socks absorb a variety of fluids that might leak and cause problems in your plant or shop.
New Pig invented the tough, economical PIG sock in 1985 for controlling leaks and spills. Socks offer a cleaner, safer, and more effective solution than clay for spill clean up.
The super absorbent socks from New Pig capture and retain liquid - simply lay the absorbent socks around the spill and pick them up and dispose of them when ready. PIG Socks can also be used around machinery and places where spills occur most often to prevent fluids from ever getting to the floor and pooling on the ground.
New Pig has developed PIG Absorbent Socks to handle any kind of spill. Different fillers, skins and treatments are applied to different socks to best handle specific types of spills. bit.ly/absorbent-socks

I’m looking for a product I could use to temporarily enclose in an expensive rooftop tent to absorb water on the canvas material after it has been exposed to rain. I am curious if this product has to be in direct contact with standing water in order to work properly or can it also pull in moister similar to Damp Rid?

There’s water in my crawl space. Would these help with that?

Thanks for reaching out to us! That is a great question. Our Universal Absorbent Socks are a great option for absorbing water. You could use these in your crawl space to help clean up any puddles or leaking water. If you would like to discuss this further with someone in our Technical Services Team, give us a call at 1-800-468-4647. We would be happy to help with this!

      Hi Goosby,
The PIG105 PIG® Mildew-Resistant Water Absorbent Sock is a great sock for absorbing water in basements. Each sock will absorb up to 1 gallon of water. These can be air dried a few times as well. Hope that helps!

I may not have been paying attention. Are the pigs reusable?

If you ONLY absorb water with them, you can lay them out to air dry. However, if you absorb anything else, they must be disposed of according to regulations.

@@NewPigUS Have you ever thought about venturing into pool products?
Imagine a floating device you could place in front of the skimmer hole. Water flow would keep it there while the pump was running. I know because inflatables, water guns, fun noodles etc. gets caught there.
Shape it with a pyramid or dome shape side so that it stays put when the pump is in use.
Inside the cage would be an oil only filter element. Filter refills could be cheaper than the floating device.
It would be a use as needed device to remove suntan oils from the water.

Why is everyone wearing mask? Should I be wearing a mask and gloves when dealing with this product?

Hi there, the type of personal protective equipment required will depend on the spill. The socks themselves don't require a mask.
