  • This is the first of two lectures addressing snow loads. This presentation covers what I call “Basic Snow Loads,” and addressed ground snow loads, determination of structure coefficients that are needed to calculate flat roof snow loads, and finally sloped-roof snow loads. Advanced topics are covered in a second separate presentation, which includes snow drifts, sliding snow, rain-on-snow surcharges, etc.

Thank you so much! I'm a young engineering student trying to learn all of the design loads and these videos are incredibly helpful!

Thank you for posting this excellent resource! I am trying to study for the SE vertical breadth section, and this serves as a great introductory to ASCE 7 snow loads, since I never deal with this at all.
