Top 10 Lessons I Learnt in 2023

- So it's the first day of 2024 and I've been looking back over 2023 to find out if there's any lessons I've learnt to carry forward into the new year.
Apparently there are a few and some of them are recurring.

Thank you for being so honest about 'the struggle' we all go through at different times and in different ways. Your courage to share is one of your best attributes. It’s the showing up for 'me time' that’s my biggest struggle, too. I lost my mom and sister, my beloveds last year; Sister in September and Mom in December 2022. I think learning how to craft for the first time ever... and watching you all on utube has helped me so much....my heart is still broken, but each day gets better. Through all that im learning how to create art, which i never knew i had it in me. What a surprise and therapy all at the same time. Ceri im not a freak and i love your creations and heart. I wish you the best year ever, and i'll continue to share your creations so that others can learn to create too. Many blessings and love to you in the years to come. Ill be back my dear, to see what your up to in your creations. ❤ God speed. Time is never enough.
Art has also been part of my healing and coping journey since my mother’s death, many friends and family members over the past two years and the impact that the pandemic had on me. Creativity is a wonderful thing.
#6 is so good, Ceri! Thank you for calling that out! Most times we are upset because we had an idea/image in our heads but no one else can see that, they just see what we made and think it’s fabulous! That one is a hard one to work through, so thanks for bringing it up! So important! Happy New Year! 🎉

Happy New Year. I hope this new year gives everyone a bit more peace. Sit down,paint a sheet of paper in 1 color. Take a new sheet and do another color. Then put them away. Maybe you can use them later or maybe not. It’s okay. I’ll bet that by the second or third sheet you have things you want to use at least one of them for 😂 It feels so good to just put some color on paper. And no,you are not alone in the darkness. I’m right here with you. Thank you Ceri for helping me color outside the lines ❤

Ceri, I. too, am a perfectionist and have symmetry OCD. That's why I was drawn to junk journaling. It allows me to create something fun, funky, and/or beautiful that ends up perfectly imperfect. ❤ Here's to a wonderful 2024. I appreciate you so much. 🎉

I wanted to share a famous quote by the artist, Bob Ross. He said, "We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents." Sometimes we can be our worst critic and I've always loved Bob's quote because it's a gentle reminder that when we lose our happiness, we've lost the whole plot....I appreciate that you shared so many of your inner thoughts in this video and there is a lot to be learned just by listening to each lesson you have learned in 2023. One thing I've learned is that one should never stop learning new things - I think that keeps us younger and more content in the long run. I hope you learn much in 2024 - Happy New Year!

You have helped me get through some difficult days as you are really focused and a good organiser which I lack unfortunately! 😂 I’m really lacking any direction atm as I’m going through a bad time with my marriage break up and my mum passing. On a positive note I’m moving back to be near family with my daughter and I so looking forward to that. Thanks again Ceri and a happy new year! Isn’t it crazy how one nasty comment can get to you, yet you have loads and loads of good comments..we need to realise that these people who say these horrible things are sad in themselves and need to be pitied..

It's not the talent that makes the artist, it's just the doing. The idea that it's only talent or only people who have talent can make art was made up by people who want to hold others back. Do the thing, whether that's cardmaking/stamping, or flinging paint on canvas like Jackson Pollock (one of my favorite things to do), or making a collage out of random things. Do something. That's art.

You are one of my very few selected CZcamses that I go to when me-time allows. I always hope that I might bump into you in a charity shop one day when we're visiting Wales, which we do quite often. 😊

I have health problems and sometimes when I'm in a lot of pain just being in my craft space helps. Even if i don't make anything, just being at my desk, maybe cutting out a few images helps me so much.

Hi Ceri! Almost the new year here in the PNW of the US. Very good points you hit on in this video. Thank you for your advice and guidance. I did my first collage today because of watching you and how you collage! I’m so glad to hear how you deal with those nasty, awful people who can never say anything nice or pleasant!
