      FordTechMakuloco Hey I'm about to get a new ford. What would you recommend the eco boost or the 5.0. Or step it up to a f250 6.2?

    • @dons8365
      @dons8365 Před 7 lety +2

      I also am in the repair business. I will give you my opinion about the eco boost system. If it was such a great deal why would not Ford put it as it is and badge it as twin turbo on the rear of the vehicle. Instead they know that most people seeing ecoboost will not relate to what that is. If you would see twin turbo on the rear wouldn't you just bypass the vehicle and forget it? All you need to do is look at all the TSB's relating to ecoboost or search on CZcams for "ecoboost problems". You will see what I mean. I for one own a F150 with 5.0.

    Put a Magnaflow system on my 2010 Expedition , Fit and quality were exceptional . It does get loud under load at highway speeds ( towing a trailer up a steep grade at 70 + mph ) but for most of the time it sounds great . Complimented the new cat-back system with a K&N intake system , that solved a long standing gripe I've had with every 5.4 . .. the crappy throttle response . Night and day change worth every dime not to mention it now sounds positively vicious on hard acceleration .

    Favorite part is the "Before" and 'After" sound bytes. It at least gives you an idea of what your truck will sound like with an aftermarket high-flow type muffler and 3" pipe. Of course, Magnaflow's sound very different from Flowmaster's and even then, 40, 50, etc. -series muffs sound different again.

    I installed Magnaflow on my '13 F150 5.0 last week. Now I can see why guys call it Magnadrone. From 1,600 RPM to about 1,900 RPM it'll absolutely drive you insane. They should ship these systems with a free bottle of ibuprofen. Once you get out of the drone range, it sounds excellent and really opens up the truck.

    • @kenhemmerling6829
      @kenhemmerling6829 Před 7 lety

    • @4-LOW
      @4-LOW Před 7 lety

      I've got some mileage on mine already and it seems to be getting louder and the drone is getting worse as the fiberglass packing inside "burns in". I guess it's a trade off. #Magnadrone

    • @wayneschnaak762
      @wayneschnaak762 Před 7 lety

      Bama Homestead probably a loose exhaust U bolt or heat shield. It's common for old trucks to have a broken U bolt hanging in by a thread. The exhaust stays together because it is either mushroomed or rusted together. I would think that is the first culprit. The belt tensioner could also be going bad running on the front cover. It's hard to tell without looking but my first thought.

    I was looking into the Magnaflow single inlet/dual outlet system for a 2010 F150 5.4. Ended up going with the Flowmaster Outlaw system.

      @@Lonewlf7676 highway drone!! and actual quality of the stainless steel. ive had my magnaflow for 9 yrs. and its like brand new. its thicker than any flowmaster ive ever seen( metal wise).and it sounds GREAT on start up and heavy throttle!! BUT at normal highway speeds you can still talk and listen to the radio. its quiet when just cruising along. every flowmaster ive been around is more on the obnoxious side of the cat back exhaust systems. just my opinion. you should always get what you want . i was talking about the flowmaster 40. things might have changed over the last 10 years for flowmaster. i havent looked at exhaust systems since i got mine 9 years ago. oh also, i wish i would have went with dual side exhaust instead of straight back. they look much more stock. dont hate it, but would prefer sides. it is what it is. STILL SOUNDS GREAT!!

    So it's safe to assume those brackets eliminate the need for welding

    If you like a bit louder system go with a Flowmaster system. Watch out for a drone though at certain RPM though. Do your research first. Magnaflow makes a nice system just too quiet for me.
