    For the first time I need to disagree with you on this topic Hero. Having tuned bikes for over 40 years. Just break it down as simply as possible. The ECU is the brain of the bike where you can make significant positive changes to how your engine performs. A power commander is simply a piggyback unit designed to assist the ECU. The range it can assist is limited and can become a more difficult addition. Carbureted bikes always will be effected by altitude changes, EFI, bike’s nowhere near as much as the O2 sensor still feeds back information to the ECU to adjust the fuel to air ratio.

      Except that most tuners that flash ECUs for mods, do so to run in open-loop mode, disabling the O2 input altogether and running the entire ECU's program completely from the predetermined maps, with no micro-adjustments available any longer. While the Autotune that's available from Dynojet may make these adjustments on the fly, I will always advocate for a full flash over a piggyback setup because of the customization options and better mapping that a full flash can provide, especially when tailored to your own bike via being on the dyno.

    In the current day with almost all modern bikes the only self "tuning" option is to change the engine fuel map by buying an ecu programmer. This is not easy (I've done it, trust me, it will not take a day - or a week - or a month). Trusting some other shop to provide a good fuel map is very hit and miss. Some "specialist" shops have good maps - they are the exception. Most are pretty useless.
    And by the way, one specific comment. You are right about the default fuel map being lean, especially in the low rpm low throttle range. Now trust me on this - correcting the fuel map in this region makes a HUGE difference to low rpm power and driveablility - and this is one region where a dyno tune will not achieve much. Dynos are mostly not very good at partial throttle / low rpm.
    A final comment. Years of experience tuning fuel maps has taught me that one of the most important attributes of a really good fuel map (and of course we are assuming that the fundamental fuel curves are right in the first place) is how smooth and regular the fuel curves are. A jagged set of fuel curves, even if they are mostly in the right region, will always perform worse than a properly smoothed and spaced set of curves. Most dyno curves are not even close to smooth, and this will never deliver optimal results.

    I just picked up my third bike, and it is a 2003 Suzuki GSXR 600. I called Chris at Moore Mafia, and he told me that the 2003 GSXR 600, and GSXR 750 can not be flashed, so I was thinking Booster Plug install, it trick the ECU into thinking the outside temp is colder thus increasing fuel output at the points the bike needs. Thanks for putting out another info video!!...I have learned a lot watching.

      @@IN_ZANE_ I have done some research And the booster plug is not active throughout the rev range and any speed and in any gear it's just Leanness and add gas When too much air Is detected Once the necessary fuel is at it it turns itself off until needed again That's done by tricking the ECU and to think it's colder therefore adding more fuel. But if you have some information that I don't have please share it with me and thank you for the comment

      @@SoloBlack313 I bought a 2002 gsxr 600 from its original owner with 4588 miles on it. It had a yoshi pipe so I figured it probably needed a tune. Dynojet makes a power commander 6 for our bike and I installed it, flashed it with their "slip on" tune. There are 2 tunes one for a full system and one for a slip on. That's all you got. Using their software you have to flash it, so you need a laptop for it. I definitely noticed a MUCH better midrange immediately. From 6000-8000 it has so much more, to me at least.

    Changing exhaust is generally losing hp. The engineering in stock exhaust systems is amazing. Back to back dyno on stock to aftermarket will show 1 or two hp increas if lucky most will show a hp lose. But will be louder so people think more power.

    how do you know if a second-hand bike's ecu has been flashed? do you bring it to any dyno shop and they will be able to find out?

    I have a question that I am hoping you or someone can make sense of. My current elevation is 4640. Our current Density Altitude is going as high as 7,800, (+3,160 feet). I have an understanding of Density Altitude and IAW scientific Articles of weather, sea level is 0.0764 lb/ft3 Air Density. 4640 is 0.0665 lb/ft3 Air Density. And 7800 is 0.0605 lb/ft3 Air Density. From 4640 (0.0665) to 7800 (0.0605) is in theory, a -9.023% reduction of fuel due to elevation (density altitude of 7800). // If I subtracted 4640 from 7800, that gives me 3,160 feet. Some people say add or subtract fuel by 3% for every 1000 feet change of elevation. 3160 divided by 1000 equals 3.16 (or 3.16% of fuel change). Is there a way to prove or disprove one of these theories of fuel adjustments? I also understand a car or motorcycle should make automatic fueling adjustments according to elevation. But an elevation of 4640 with a density altitude of 7,800 is lacking more oxygen than at 4640. And this I suspect is not being factored into the ECU adjustments to maintain proper AFR. Am I wrong? Or am I missing something??

    1. Good tires 2. Titanium exhaust 3. better air filter 4. dyno setup 5. change gearing 6. supercharger. Placebo efect for slip on that was used and measured on dyno by manufacturer? I dont think so... Not every exhaust is total china crap

      Different bikes/exhausts will yield different results. Be careful trusting the numbers provided by the people who are trying to sell you their product.

      Scorpion exhausts have proven dyno, everything is recorded before and after installation. It like Akrapovič exhausts but cheaper. Other than that they have E4 regulation noise for exhaust with db killer on. So i dont think they are trying to scam people

      + you can feel the change of bike with better exhaust, it is not skipping in low rp like original exhaust. So smooth after this upgrade

      ​@@rideroll9609 99% of the time your going to loose power messing around with the air flow. Most noticable will be low end torque. Once the bike has been mapped you can make some small increase in power. Slip on your probably looking 5bhp at most. If you get free flowing intake and exhaust maybe 20bhp. If you did a lot of engine work you could probably get a 600 pushing 150bhp.

    Man stop perpetuating and parroting the internet myth that exhausts always cause a bike to run lean. It's a bit cringe. Truth is that some bikes (yes modern bikes) can actually run rich as a result of an exhust. It depends on which bike. Please do some research if you're going to choose to make informative videos. This video really feels like a placeholder / gap filler to the normally more interesting content previously on this channel, hope it's a just temporary hiccup, love the old content.
