  • Marty McFly. Doc Brown. Biff Tannen. George and Lorraine. The characters made Back to the Future into THE movie of my childhood. So, in deck form? Great Scott! Let's do this!

I’m pretty sure the reason for the two odd queens (Marty’s sister and the save the clock tower lady) made it in the deck is because both the actors that played them have both died in real life, so I’m sure it a tribute to them!
Nice deck will definitely pick one or four up when I can get hold of them! Thanks 😊

Would have loved to see this great movie licence handled by Theory 11.
IMO, this Bicycle version is not good enough. Not having Jennifer or even Doc’s dog (for the jokers for example) while having such minor characters as Queens does not make a lot of sense. Even having Strickland would have been more logical.
But I imagine it’s complicated to find enough female characters in the movie for 4 Queens…
Without thinking too much, here’s a an idea: all courts would represent a 1955 version and a 1985 version of the character when possible (since there is no « Past Jennifer »). That would make it a one-way design but it’s already the case with the Backs and it’s more of a collector deck than a magic one.
    HEARTS (Good guys/Heros):
    - King: DocBrown55 / DocBrown85
    - Queen: JenniferDenimVest85
    - Jack: MartyPromSuitGuitar55 / MartyRedJacketSkateBoard85
    CLUBS (McFly family, loser version):
    - King: GeorgePeepingTom55 / GeorgeLoser85
    - Queen: LorraineStandard55 / LorraineLoser85
    - Jack: DaveFadingAway / DaveLosers85
    DIAMONDS (McFly family, winner version):
    - King: GeorgeProm55 / GeorgeWinner85
    - Queen: LorraineProm55 / LorraineWinner85
    - Jack: Dave&LindaPictureFading / Dave&LindaWinner85
    SPADES (Bad guys):
    - King: Biff55 / BiffLoser85
    - Queen: LindaPictureFading / LindaLoser85
    - Jack: StricklandWithHair55 / StricklandBald85
    JOKERS ideas:
    - Einstein + Copernicus
    - Picture of the McFly family + another version where they’re fading away
    - DeLorean car + fire tire tracks on the road with licence plate
    - GoldieWinsonCafe55 + GoldieWinsonMayor85
    - TwoPinesMall + LonePineMall
It’s not perfect and it implies to have Linda in the Bad guys (but she always seemed rough towards Marty) + Dave and Linda (I imagine behind Dave) for the « winner » Jack of Diamonds but I still think it would be more representative of the movie.
Would have loved to place the 3D Glasses guy from Biff gang somewhere too.

💯 i picked this up just for collections sake, and I’m a huge BTTF fan, but i was pretty disappointed by the artwork and design decisions made. At least the box will look nice on the display shelf, I also really wish T11 would have done this set.

Everything about this deck could be better. Tuck will look nice on the shelf, but will probably never be opened again.

Wow i believe they were a bit lazy to the cards designs here judging from other decks i bought from the same company! For 10 euros in my region & a bttf copyrighted property you'd expect a little more effort with maybe scens from the film,or some foil stuff like the box. They gave allot of pain in the box art and almost nothing to the cards inside.I will keep them closed i believe since i love the movie as well allot and love to collect trinkets and thingies of a franchise like this awesome one. Thanks for the review and i might also say really informative & with allot of info in the details best regards from greece man! 😉

The blue tuck makes no sense to me. Should’ve been a silver tuck like the delorean. Fonts should’ve been a fire gradient like the film. The court cards are atrocious. Doc brown looks like a humanoid of Rick from Rick and Morty. Bicycle and the designer really dropped the ball on this one. Sad.

    • @TheCardGuyReviews
      @TheCardGuyReviews  Před rokem +2

The court card art could definitely be improved. I’ll disagree on the blue tuck, though. The blue background is absolutely a prominent and relevant color, featuring on the VHS, etc. that color actually nailed it on the nostalgia points for me, bringing me back to my own well used VHS copy from the late 80s!

💯 agree, the design decisions on this deck make no sense. Why they would not put this in an aluminum tuck is beyond me, and failures just continue to mount from there. I would pay 3x as much if hey did it well, as it is, I feel like they cheated me out of $12 AND they insulted one of my all-time favorite movie franchises. Total failure from Bicycle. I wish I knew someone at the company to ask them “is this really the best you can do?”
Also, maybe I’m nitpicking here, but… “Bicycle Trusted Since 1885”… why would they release a single-film tribute when they could have done a trilogy tribute that would have directly encompassed their own companies founding? So short-sighted.

If only Kings Wild was given the chance instead. Would’ve been 10x better. I feel Bicycle’s take is just ok.

I found this set for $12 at Walmart, so I picked it up just to add to my collection (and I’m a huge BTTF fan!)
    I was extremely disappointed.
The backs of the cards are not embossed like the box shows them to be (almost too dark to even see) the font for the numbers is hard to read, the artwork is horrendous and the design decisions are nonsensical… why would you waste face cards by depicting characters who were little more than extras? Even the main characters are nearly impossible to identify without looking at their accessories.
This set is a letdown for card collectors and movie fans alike. It’s as if someone made a list of trivia elements from the movie and handed it to a “designer” who had never seen it and told them to include those points in the “artwork”. As a movie tribute I would have rather seen actual screen-grabs than this terrible illustration work. I feel stupid for getting duped out of $12 that could’ve been better spent on anything by Theory11. At least the box pops enough to sit on my display shelf and give a nod to the movie, sad that I will never open it except to show someone how bad the deck looks.
….maybe T11 will get the lic to do a 3-deck boxed set for the entire trilogy and I can drop $100 and feel better about it.
