    A very atmospheric and experimental style entry to the Portal Mapping and Modding “Abandonment” competition.
    The aim of the contest was to take an existing part from the story and modify it to create an "abandoned" aesthetic or feeling.
    Featuring various well hydrated fruits and fungi.
    Also, turns out turrets are weatherproof.

    Feels like a really nice update of Portal chamber #16. I have no idea why my brain remembers Portal chamber #16 from over a decade ago but can't remember important information from a meeting an hour ago, but here we are ;)

      its actually a modification of one of "Turret Intro" from the main campaign.

      Ah ok, I see my confusion. Turrets are introduced in chamber 16 in Portal by chamber 13 in Portal 2.

    2:22 - "Damp" is today's word of the day, duly noted!
    3:06 - Pointlessly pedantic nitpick: in this map, lightning and thunder always strike at the same time, meaning you should be getting shockingly warmed up from all this dampness, if you catch my drift
    5:19 - Is this you trying to get deliberately killed to be able to go to the bathroom? 😏
    5:37 - There you go, you got your bathroom break!
    7:15 - Well, I mean, it is a Portal 2 campaign puzzle, so it's unsurprising
    Great episode as per usual! We gotta find you some cool Friday maps, those are super scarce 😅

    1:25 - Looks like we're polar opposites when it comes to "Turret Management". But I gotta admit, that was a pretty cool flip, even if purely accidental!
    2:52 - I share the same opinions on that matter. It's one of the first things I often look for when rain is featured. I have absolutely no idea how to do it myself, but it can't be *_THAT_* difficult to implement, right?
    5:02 - Turrets shooting other Turrets doesn't destroy them. But you could certainly throw Turrets at other Turrets if you _really_ want to go for a friendly fire, although that's probably more in the direction of _assisted friendly fire. Probably.

      you will need to copy over infra's particles and add its particles manifest to portal 2s, portal doesnt have the particles for some reason

    I love the wheatley-o end credit scenes in your videos. There is something so charming about the scenes you choose within the map. Just a great outro I always look forward to how you compose the last shot

    1:30 lmao. ngeruma is a changed man. he no longer keeps turrets observing the corner for eternity
    3:20 I've actually found it slightly easier to program rain as a proper entity in source. most of AAA games just use a shader to constantly have the rain effect on.
    can't believe you died in a hammerization of a story map. you can solve demon arisen difficult puzzles my guy. how do you die like this?

    How about people spend less time on the "pretty" and more time making an actual test chamber that is fun and engaging? This was very pretty, but the puzzle was something my dog could come up with.

      Well, it was just a chamber from Portal 2 they made look different.

      VALVe made this chamber. it is designed to let the player know how to deal with turrets without them dying. if this chamber was harder, people who didnt know how to kill turrets they would spend most of the chamber in a loading screen.
      Also these maps aren't about the puzzle, thousands of those exist, these maps are only about how pretty they can make it.
