Viktor Lytvynov you can do heel-toe on any pedal. Short or long. Longer footboard definitely can help though.

Evan Sales That’s because they are double strokes. I’d kill to learn his technique like he has.
It's more about setup than technique. try tightening your bd head until it's tight as a snare then set your beaters a bit closer to the bd head and use around 3/4 spring tension. have fun at 260+ bpm with no effort :D
Edit: I should perhaps mention that what Aaron is playing isn't easy by a longshot. The technique he is using however is easy to learn but as everything else with drums, it takes time and effort to master. If you just wanna play your straight 16/16 with double bass at 260+ bpm it shouldn't take you more than month if you can play 180 bpm already.
I know i'm a caveman, but i much prefer the old way of doing double bass. Sounds more natural and you don't need triggers. This modern drumming sounds more like a drum machine. And i can tell that the overall intensity is lower than drumming from before even though the speed is faster.

David is a monster, and he basically emulates Kollias who is the father if heavy hitting at these nuts speeds... he said he had to start doing workouts of George's DvD's to get the power to cover that Nile song.
