    Very interesting. The oval cut diamond is cut so well! I usually don’t like oval cut stones because they tend to have that dead spot at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock, but this one is cut so well that those areas are not dead at all!

    The fire sparkle in moissanite is brilliant but the tiny sparkles in real diamond are beautiful in nature

      Charles and covard don’t currently make a crushed ice stone that’s probably why they used their regular stone. I would also love to see more crushed ice oval comparisons like maybe add FAB moissanites crushed ice against those.

      Because it's cut to simulate a diamond cut. They want to get rid of the obvious rainbow effect that comes from moissanite

    Thank you for posting this video. I thought I wanted to go with an oval crushed ice. You are one of the few jewelers that have made equivalent comparisons. I am really disappointed because I was sure the Harro crushed ice was the way to go, but thanks to you I can confirm that there is an opaque quality to this moissanite and the cut. I will have to look for alternatives. Can you do this same comparison with the other shapes? We would love to see them! :)

    • @nickprater2785
      @nickprater2785 Před 4 lety +4

      I'd have to disagree. That moissanite is clearer and outshines the middle and right stone greatly. Looks like a 12,000.00 stone. Its beautiful. Unless the harro is a different type of moissanite and that's what you were referring to, then I completely agree!

      @@nickprater2785 I love how clear the C&C is & their colorless range is pretty right on, but the rainbow disco ball effect makes it look fake. I've seen many in person and I dont like how they look. Also they do not cut their ovals the same as a diamond, with the normal bowtie faceting in the center. They look like a round diamond under the table and it is very annoying. I love how the Harro is cut, but they aren't as clear and the color can look warmer. The diamond is my favorite cut in this bunch, but I would want whiter and much bigger so they are just too expensive for what I want!! I can't win.. Ugh..

    • @nickprater2785
      @nickprater2785 Před 4 lety +6

      @@princess3193 I actually prefer the disco ball. Just me though. Every time I wear my moissanite studs, I get more compliments than when I wear my diamonds. For the price and the way they're made, it just helps me have a clean conscience. After all, we all buy diamonds for the sparkle, so why not have something more refractive?

    • @princess3193
      @princess3193 Před 4 lety

      @@nickprater2785 Well we all don't buy diamonds for the sparkle lol. Unfortunately I have bought for size over quality/color in the past because I wanted bigger. I might consider the rainbow flashes of C&C if the cut was exactly like an oval diamond. Also, the largest I see that they offer on their site is a 7.22ct 14x10mm, but I would want bigger. And in the colorless range, that 7.22ct costs $7,125! Maybe if it was a couple thousand, but I think that's an insane price for something that isnt even a diamond! And the size I would want would definitely cost well over 10k which is even more ridiculous lol. And that is just the stone and doesn't count the cost of a setting!
      Harro is cheaper and they will cut pretty much any size you want, but we know the downside of that one. Also they have said the larger you go, it will impact the color and you can't always get the color you want. It will be harder for them to get it to be in the D, E, F color range and it may also come out looking blueish. I've seen 10-11 ct oval diamonds look blueish due to the HPHT processing and I loved them. The problem is I would want to see the moissanite before I bought it, or at least be allowed to return it if it came out not as advertised or wasn't what I wanted. But if I ordered it through a business so I can have them make a setting for it, I've been told there are no returns because it would be an expensive custom order. Not fair!

    • @robotaholic
      @robotaholic Před rokem +1

      I'm not most ppl. They are prettier will sparkle more, they really put diamonds to shame side by side, there is no diamond trade blood, it is 9.5 on the hardness scale so almost as strong as diamond. Me and all my friends prefer moissanites over less sparkly blood diamonds. But you tell yourself you like blood diamonds that are less sparkly or shiny as a moissanite and cost way way more..
