    Diamonds are overrated for most rich people. I bought a real diamond engagement ring for my Fiance. During pandemic , we both worked crazily in the public field and were never at home. One night, we came back home after being robbed. Insurance only covered half the value of the diamond ring because they said the resale value dropped. My point being is, buy what you can afford and what you are comfortable with. Don't let social media and friends affect your budget. Diamond is just a rock at the end of the day and even one day , you are in the misery and need quick cash, its not worth that much. The best investment jewelery are watches like Rolex. These never drops in prices but only goes up. Do yourself and your woman a favour, get a moissonite ring but also get her a Rolex watch. She will be very happy.

So we don't import rubies from them now, unless we changed that. Lab stones are not fake, like rubies are grown from a small "seed" of the real thing.

    Moissanite is actually DOUBLY REFRACTIVE.
    Meaning, it splits the light that goes into the stone, and bounces off the facets and back up to the eye into TWO.
    That's why you can take a diamond and moissanite that both have the exact dimensions and facet pattern, put them side by side and the moissanite will look like it has more facets. Which is why you get more of the flashes of white and colors dancing around the gem. They’ve got to cut moissanite differently to get it to appear more subdued like that of a diamond. But Charles & Colvard have made some amazing headway in developing cut patterns to help moissanite look almost identical to it’s diamond counterpart. But it takes a great lapidary to pull it off.

      Darker ones go on yellow and rose gold. The lighter ones go on platinum and white gold. They have a few videos as well. The darker ones are much cheaper cause they are more "flawed" the darker they are but they usually aren't noticed as much as yellow gold and hence used on yellow gold the most.

    • @jdogg5543
      @jdogg5543 Před 2 lety

      Also out of the 4 C's. Cut is always the most important in case you were wondering. They also have excellent cut. Ideal cut (which is after excellent) and some places super rare have a cut called super ideal hearts and arrows cut and they have a trademarked patent machine to cut them perfectly like that. They also have single cut which is I believe 16 facets and full cut which has 57 facets. Some melee (melee is small diamonds) have only single cut because some jeweler's don't think you will notice or that it is worth it for the extra effort to cut small melee diamonds fully. So you have
      1. Type of cut. (Single or full)
      2. Cut quality (bad, good, very good, excellent, idea,l and in some rare places, super ideal hearts and arrows.
      3. You have types of cut designs..(8 hearts, 10 hearts, cats eye, constellation, round brilliant etc).
      As you can see, cut gets overwhelming and confusing very quickly.
      Color DEF almost all look the same and GHI almost look like them as well to naked eye which can save lots of money. And then JKL can be used on yellow gold to save money. In my opinion, white gold is the most expensive out of yellow gold and rose gold because it uses near colorless diamonds which are more expensive and it needs to be rhodium plated. White gold 18k also cost more than platinum at the moment.

I don’t own any pure Diamond as they cost too much, but have noticed a slight reduction in price. That being said, my favourite diamond like has to be natural Zircon (mainly from Cambodia). Zircon is much older than Diamond by about one billion years, comes in many colours and has an outstanding fire. I was out and about and noticed that my ring, when the light in the stores hit it, it has rainbow. Does this mean it’s fake? I looked it up and that’s what comes up first. I would be so pissed. The fire is more intense in a lab grown because its more pure.. 2 carat vvs1 D real diamond would cost over $20,000.. If the cut and polish are the same, both rings would have the exact same fire.

      A lab diamond can be just as flawed with inclusions, yellowing, poorly cut, etc. as a natural diamond. They are scored and graded just the same, by the same gem labs.
