    Well done video! I love Mazda’s and I’m considering Mazda CX-5 but was curious about the CX-30’s size and specs. I drove and am currently driving a Mazda. These cars have never let me down. Underrated rides.

      The problem with the cx-30 imo is less about the space and more about the extremely dated outer design. Front looks good, but sides with that oversized plastic, and then the back that looks like a box, looks very unappealing.

    First such comparison in a video I've ever seen between any vehicles and you did a pretty good job. Size matters most to me for the driver's leg room and cargo space. And two show stoppers for me with the CX-30 are:
    1) High belt line from the seated-driver perspective. If you're accustomed to resting your left arm outside the door or along its cavity opening for the window, then be prepared to raise the seat and awkwardly lean down to the right in order to rest your right arm on the armrest. I can't imagine anyone saying that sitting in such a position is comfortable. And it's quite inconvenient for needing to interact with machines at parking garages when you must grab a ticket/token upon entering and pay upon exiting because certain components on those machines are lower than the belt line.
    2) Atrocious rear view visibility. Although I've mastered parking tail-in first using the side mirrors, I feel that you should be able to easily see what's behind you anytime while going forward. I guess that I'm old school and don't care for all the technology that's included nowadays to monitor so much of what's happening just outside my car.

    It is just my wife and I. I wanted the CX-3, and if it came with a 6 speed manual it would be in my garage right now. I ended up getting the CX-30 because if I am going to have to have an automatic, I might as well have the more refined CX-30. It still is fun on a curvy road. Smaller is better IMO. I tried to talk my wife into a Miata RF. LOL!

    I now have a Mazda 2 and it's a super nice car. Soon I will buy a larger Mazda, but I doubt between the CX-30 AND CX-5. I know the cx-5 is more spacious, but the cx-30 does have the latest interior and infotainment. What preference do you have ... driving style / comfort / quality / experience

    • @PCMazdaReviews
      @PCMazdaReviews  Před 4 lety +6

      Pretty much across the board as of this day I like the CX-30 more. Really it comes down to a size thing though. With the Mazda2 you are used to the smaller car, one size up would be the CX-30 and then two sizes up would be the CX-5. If you need the much larger space I would go with the CX-5. You can't go wrong either way, they are both amazing cars!

  • @jeffruebens8355

    For the Mazda CX-5 and Subaru Crosstrek, the CX-5 steering is better, it feels like it has more power, and the transmission feels better. I did prefer the brake feel for the Crosstrek, and the heated seats get hotter for the Crosstrek. For the mid-level model, the CX-5 has more features. See the last 2 top ten lists for reliability by Consumer Reports- the MX-5 Miata, CX-3, and CX-9 are on the newest list, and the CX-5 is on the year old list. I am 5 feet 11 inches tall and barely fit in the CX-5, so if you are very tall you might want something else.

    CX-30 buyer here. I don't understand why the space in the back seat looks so tight in all the reviews.
    I'm 1.77cm tall. I put the front seat in perfect driving position. Which means just enough to stretch my leg at 90% as 100% stretch is not recommended because it is dangerous in case of an accident (a front hit can break your leg and also transfer the impact energy to your hip causing a very serious injure). In that driving position, I have 10cm between my knee and the front seat.
    I was about not to buy the car given the space shown in all the review, but when I saw the car personally, there was plenty of room on the back seat.

    • @eduardocastineyra6051
      @eduardocastineyra6051 Před 4 lety +2

      @@hollywoodquotes2147
      size: the average length in my country (Spain) is 4.3 m and you are much less likely to find a slot on-street if you drive a 4.55 m long car. The same applies to the width. Of course it also means, less fuel consumption and more stability. I was actually looking for a big hatchback more than a SUV.
      hybrid: CX-30 is hybrid whereas the CX-5 is not. It's kind of fake hybrid but still enough to comply with my country regulations to be able to drive in the centre of the city.
      tech: CX-30 is also a newer generation car than the CX-5 avaliable when I bought it. I think there is a new CX-5 already available with the technology featured in CX-30 and Mazda 3, but I'm not sure. When I bought my CX-30 only the 2017 version of CX-5 was on sale.

      @@hollywoodquotes2147 Yes, it feels like the CX-5 gives you more value for the money than CX-30, specially if they are on par on technology. So it seems you should always choose the former. But they are both good cars, so pick the one you want and don't torture yourself trying to make the perfect decision.

    • @farcinue
      @farcinue Před 4 lety +2

      Christopher Allan it’s probably a combination of a longer wheelbase and a softer suspension. In terms of wheelbase, think of a lincoln towncar versus a honda fit, or a ninja versus a harley.

    You got both vehicles front seat slided way back that's why you left less space on back seats. I drive lexus lx600 2023 business class and you won't believe me how small space you got on the back seats .Drivers right position on every vehicle is must be like this ... when you drive your car ,the wrists of your hands should be touched top of the wheel .Now if the driver seats are correctly adjusted the position the back seats will be comfortable for the passengers on back seats .

      @Raptors0524 Před 4 lety

      Maria Alvarado The “need to lose some weight” doesn’t hold any water. These vehicles are becoming progressively smaller then their competitors. Americans with family’s don’t want a small vehicle. Compare the CX9 vs the Pilot with sales. If Mazda wants to compete in America, then they need to make their vehicles larger with the same characteristics. And as for me, if I “lose” anymore weight I will be skin and bones. 😂

We own a Nissan micra and have an almost 4 year old. We don’t need more car and we’re happy enough. Recently got a Mazda 3 and I am really struggling to adjust to the size. I am glad I’ve got 360 camera and all the technology as it’s harder to see compared to my old micra which has no technology. A 3 is big enough for our family.
