Lyrics:
Girl I can't let you do this
Let you walk away
Girl how can I live through this
When you're all I wake up for each day
Baby.
You're my soul and my inspiration
You're all I've got to get me by
You're my soul and my inspiration
Without you baby what good am I
Woh, what good am I.
I never had much goin'
But at least I had you
How can you walk out knowin'
I ain't got nothin' left if you do
Baby.
You're my soul and my inspiration
You're all I've got to get me by
You're my soul and my inspiration
Without you baby what good am I
Woh, what good am I.
Baby, I can't make without you
And I'm telling you honey
You're my reason for laughin' for cryin'
For livin' for dyin'.
Baby, please I'm beggin' you baby
I can't make it without you
If you go it'll kill me
I swear it I can't live without you.
You're my soul and my inspiration
You're all I've got to get me by
You're my soul and my inspiration
Without you baby what good am I
Woh, what good am I...

Man, Richard could serve as the voice of God in a church drama play or a movie! Perfect!
best bass singer in the business, Richard Sterban.
Best quartet in the business.
45 years old.....still love this version of a classic after all this time. The bass is phenomenal
absolutely agree.
Boy, they nailed this.
Not many realize Richard Sterban was with JD Summner and the Stamps and sang backup with Elvis for a couple years before joining the Oak Ridge Boys.
You're wrong there. The majority of people know that.
@@AmericanWoman1 And what majority have you talked too?
@@thewildgoose1979 LOL Are you serious??! Hundreds, or more, over the years. Many!
@@AmericanWoman1 Hundreds or more Elvis fans?
Not sure how I've never heard of this version before but I can't stop playing it. I play this at least 20 times in a row. I've always loved hearing the Righteous Brothers do this and now I love this one the most. The bass is just incredible.
I know the Oak Ridge Boys, are Country-gospel singers.
I love the Oak Ridge Boys version of this song. You can hear Richard's bass vocals through the song. Richard is so handsome!!!
Yep. This song is a remake, of an old Righteous Brothers song.
Richard Sterban does sing bass.
@@paullarue2010 Between Sternum and Harold Reid of the Statler Brothers I feel Sternum has the deeper voice, but neither man holds a candle to JD Summers.
@@kevinmiller6324 Richard Sturban sang with JD and the Stamps as backup to Elvis Presley in '71 - '72
Country pop sums it up.
There are two blonde Steves from my personal short list of favorite bands of all time who died long before their time due to their life struggles: Steve Sanders of the Oaks, passing on at age 45 in 1998; and Steve Clark of Def Leppard, leaving us at age 30 in 1991. We still miss them both... May they rest in peace.
They had really good luck with Righteous Brothers covers, as their 1979 remake of "Dream On" was also a major hit for them.
Best version ever. Great Song 👍
Never watched these guys before= Im 65! Wow they are fantastic!
Hello Dinah..
Really? I’ve seen them 19 or 20 times. Lost track over the years!!
love love love this version
Love This ❤️
I love The Oak Ridge Boys!!
Hello Angelica..
The Oaks have made a good song better with their talents!!!
Definitely a beautiful song!! Another one to dedicate to my Wife.
What a great song! Beautiful harmonies!!
I love the Oaks' version of this song!!
Hello Kelly..
Such a beautifulvsong will done by the oak ridge boys
Best version of this song ever!!!
👍👍👍
Re musicians who passed away too soon, there is another among my favorites who left us the same year as Steve Sanders from this video. That is Carl Wilson of the Beach Boys, the second greatest Beach Boy in my opinion after brother Brian, went on to his reward just four months before Steve Sanders, in Feb 1998 at 51 years old. RIP
Eddie Rabbitt, a long time friend of the ORB, and others, and some of my favorites, also died the same year as Steve--a month before Steve passed away. Eddie died of lung cancer.
@@janetnazer4709 A coincidence not only on the year... Carl Wilson died from lung cancer also.
This is good! Really good!
They only get better with age, can't wait till they come to Buffalo NY this fall.
Hello Roxanne..
I love this version too of the song
From the RCA Records days. Love it.
RCA Records is still around these days, now they're with Sony Music.
RCA still has Christina Aguilera.
One of the last songs with Steve Sanders as baritone.
This single was released in 1990, before the movie in 1991. The Oaks made 6 studio albums with Steve Sanders (including Country Christmas Eve in 1995), 3 before this and 3 after. So it was actually almost dead center of the songs made with Steve, not at all one of the last.
Jonathon Taylor here. This song is very beautiful and I think of my special love she's melts my heart every time I see her and I wish she was in my heart and my arms I would love her with all my heart and my love. I love you (LBW).
Nice remake from The Oak Ridge Boys.
The Righteous Brothers actually sang this song, before the Oak Ridge Boys remade this.
I love Steve SO much!!! (burying my head)
God bless those who have loved him longer than me always!!!
Holly in East Tennessee (forever wishing that I had discovered him sooner)
P.S. I pray that the rest of his Oak Ridge videos are up here soon!
The Oakridge Boys did him Wrong!!!!
Not to discount at all Steve's life or the struggles he went through during his time on earth, but I love the idea of a blonde member of the Oak Ridge Boys. If they ever need to add another member, I hope they choose a blonde! Though as old as they are now, anyone else their age will probably have gray hair...
Hard to believe this was a full 30 years ago now.
Sure do miss him.
I'll say one thing for the Oak- s; they're on the same wavel engh as their contemporarie s, the Statler Brothers. Both groups kept their language clean, stayed away from the cheating & drinking songs, a nd both groups sang an occ asional gospel song.
Amen! Oak Ridge Boys is a Country-Gospel group.
Hep us from
Have you listened to their albums? Which ones?
I'm not trying to be a jerk here, because I love the Oak Ridge Boys, and know pretty much all of their songs by heart. That being said, they did 'plenty' songs about drinking and cheating. The group was also riddled with suicide and drugs (especially for certain members). Doing an "occasional gospel song", was just to keep people like yourself, believing that the group was "wholesome". Apparently, it worked lol. Anyway, the ORB were/are awesome, but the humanity/struggles of the group, was where they often got their sound. Love them for who they are, not what you recreate them to be in your head :)
Thanks so very much for sharing
Richard Sterban does the bridge, of this Righteous Brothers hit.
The Oak Ridge Boys sang it beautifully.
He sure can rattle the windows
@@shawnbrink He sure can, I've seen him do it 4 times!!!! They put on an awesome concert!👍✌
It’s great to finally have a good clean clear version of this video on CZcams. Even if it took 3 years for me to find it. Before the only version had horrible picture and sound quality.
It took me 10 years. The shitty version was the only one on here for so long
@@tomstoffelsen8575 back in the late ‘90s I think it was CMT that did like a biography episode on them, and it was the first time I had ever seen the video for the song. I have been on the look out for a good copy like this one on CZcams for years now. I even recently found a playlist of the entire soundtrack to the movie on here.
I love the song and the movie
Good remake.
I am gonna have to watch My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys now
The best
I know RCA Records did the soundtrack, to this Samuel Goldwyn film.
1978 vertion in the best
I can not find this on spotify
The Righteous Brothers own this song but this is a nice cover
Yep. The Oak Ridge Boys did a good job, to cover this Righteous Brothers classic song.
Va nalh ve
Old Righteous Brothers song.
This remake song, was on the RCA soundtrack, "My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys".
This sounds a lot like David Bowie. I have new respect for the Oak Ridge Boys.
I believe this song, was in a movie.
Yes. From my heroes have always been cowboys
I think this song is a remake, of a Righteous Brothers hit.
Thanks for posting this! This is a great homage to the original song. Question: Which movie are the clips from? It looks familiar but I can't place it.
Cowboys have always been heroes
My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys
For "My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys".
This video was in a movie theater?
Ive heard both versions of this song and this one is great
What is the movie playing that has the rodeo? It looks interesting.
My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys.
@@ginalahue8694 Thanks!
@@JoJo86155 you are welcome! I always wanted to download this as an mp3 to my collection of songs. I just love how their voices blend together.
What movie was this in?
My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys.. it’s a great movie that’s never been released on DVD because of musical rights issues.. it’s on Prime.
Sorry but, i like willam lee golden with the oaks .i know the other guy had an an ungreatfull death .i remember in vegas the oaks were playing for the first time back with wiliam i was so happy i was crying i think his son seen this and threw me a pick dont get any better than that
Was this 80's?
This cover was done in 1990 I believe.
God bless you always!!!
Holly in East Tennessee
@@SweetHeartHolly1982 Thanks. Likewise.
This song was in "My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys".
1991.
1991
Was never into this rubbish until Sanders joined
R I P Steve
Sanders was no replacement for Golden the harmony was gone
Excellent! More of Steve's memory for me to love! I will be more than happy to get my hands on every inch that no one else wants.
God bless you and those who have loved him longer than me always!!!
Holly in east Tennessee (forever wishing I had officially discovered him sooner)
are you joking
Sorry but I beg to differ, I love Golden dont get me wrong but I cant see him singing harmony on this song
I understand this movie, was PG rated.
Samuel Goldwyn Pictures did this film.
Richard's speaking part, he should have sounded serious but instead he sounds too much like he's joking. Would have been perfect had he sound like he meant the words, which you should do in a song. Maybe he wasn't in love at this point of his life to feel more for the song. I remember his girlfriend in tne latter 70's.
I see what you mean & agree, it doesn't sound heart felt to me👍✌️
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We had a solar power company to come to our house and they told us our cost would be around $52,000. Free my ass.
Fine singing much prefer Bill and Bobby. Sorry.
This song was not meant for whatever the fuck this is
what absolute rubbish compaired to the rightous brothers the opening line was enough for me
Hate to be mean, but objectively this sucks so much, lol.
