The endorsement thing is interesting. One wonders if this could be a bigger part of NHL contracts moving forward. Steve Dangle suggested it made sense for Max Domi to re-up with the Leafs even at a lower salary because he (and his dad) can make bank doing local endorsements.
I like this deal. The Canucks can still find a cheap replacement for Joshua to play the 3rd line, and elevate Joshua himself to ride shotgun with Petey (and Guentzel?). Joshua would provide the physical presence and the grit to give the Petey line some room to operate their magic, and he himself can continue to grow into a 25- or even 30-goal scorer.
That’s two thirds of one of the best third lines last season. They were smart to bring them both back. Joshua would have been a 20 goal player if he didnt injure is hand standing up for a teammate… which is another good reason to bring him back.
I'm not convinced those saying overpay watched many canucks games this year. Dude played like a 4.5 million player.
He definitely took a discount for us! Thank you Dak! Let's Win that cup baby. "Let's keep this thing going" - Joshua
Alvin continues to do nothing but win. Having competent managment for a change is so refreshing
His style is built for the playoffs and I think he will be a huge force for us and worth every penny maybe a bargain in future years!
4 years may be a bit much but a great signing. Looking forward to another good performance.
Sounds like the players are giving a hometown rebate? They love Vancouver and the coaching staff I think.
Ecstatic to have Joshua back. That 3rd line carried us for a lot of last season.
Always good to hear the Agent's perspective. Thanks.
This management team is soooo much better than Benning. That guy was soooooo bad. What a difference. Go Canucks Go
32 points : 3.25 million pretty on par....a lot of nhl salaries for forwards is based on the formula of 1 million per 10 pts......
Thought they had Rich from Red Letter Media on for a second, talking hockey. That would have been interesting...
So did I! The world needs Dick the Birthday Boy's opinion on the Joshua signing

he also makes garland worth his contract. garland was so lost without dak.
And Dak is lost without Garland!

I never thought of that, but you may be onto something here. Petey would definitely benefit some physical support to open up space.
lets pick up one of these
william carrier
anthony mantha
jake guentzel
joe pavelski
patrick kane
tyler motte
gostisberhe

4 years is the perfect term.
He sure as hell worth more then Mik was getting. Good they shipped him out and got some money to resign Dak and myers.
I think 5 years at 2.75 would be better
Sure, but we weren't going to get that.
This just in; less money and more term is better than more money and less term
Tocchet has to get more out of him to make it worthwhile. He was a 4th liner, but needs to become a 3rd liner. Get better skating, etc...
He was a third with garland & teddy. That was the best third line in the game
@@huhwhathuhwhat525 NHL's best 3rd line : Wyatt Johnston....Jamie Benn.....Logan Stankoven
All everyone sees in your comment is that you don’t watch Canucks games, he was literally 3rd line all season
This comment proves you don’t know shit. He was a third liner all year, and a damn good one at that! Watch the games bro.
@@glennhankins6927I was really mad when the Canucks didn't draft Stankoven, but no that Dallas line isn't the best third line.
Once again the Canucks are throwing there money away
Yeah, why don't they sign excellent players to play for free? Suggest that to management!
U should sounds like you are a GM clown
bit of an overpay. wanted to see 1.75, 2.5, 3 million over 3 years. Feels like another Jay Beagle overpay
Unlike Jay Beagle, we've actually seen this guy be a huge part of the team, and I think he's only going to get better.
Literally no comparison at all to Jay Beagle.
4 years a bit long he will be 32 power foreards dont have long careers
Way too much money. If we'd cut Blueger and Joshua loose, we'd have money for Guentzel.
We do have money for Guentzel….

@@wati8995 Shall we compare the Canucks 3rd line to Dallas? Wyatt Johnston..... Jamie Benn.... Logan Stankoven
@@glennhankins6927 yeah bro I said “one of”. I know Dallas had a good third line, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that so did the Canucks.
We? Don't pretend you're a fan of this team to trap people into your regular trolling.
