When I shot this last week, I shot it the way you showed and timed out after shot 7. I think the barrel was a little farther away , and I lost time on the prone first shot. Doing it over again, I think I would use a rail changer and dump the pump pillow after the first shot. Not sure where else to pick up time except sucking less.

Why dial the near target and not the far?
I said yesterday that I was skipping the 1st two prone positions for stage 2.
This stage I skipping the 1st position, that being a prone position.
For the 2nd shot you pulled the trigger at 1:28 (32sec in). My 2nd shot, after coming up from prone, is averaging 35-40sec to get the 2nd shot off in practice. So I’m skipping the 1st shot & going straight to the 55gal barrel & using the same bags as you.
I’m really glad you show the timer, it helps me see how my movements might look & how efficient they are.
So in conclusion for stages 2 & 3 this month I’m going for slow & steady.
I’ve only been doing this since February. I’m a novice & I suck, but I am getting better… Better thanks to you!!!
    Great videos, keep them coming.
    Thanks Bob

The near target is slightly smaller on a relative scale so I usually dial for the smallest target. Plus holdOVERs make more sense in my brain than holdUNDERs.
Slow and steady is the key. Stay safe and have fun. You'll get better over time, it just takes practice.

Would it be quicker to use an arcade mounted bag plate so you are moving rifle and bag as 1?

It might be, but you're going to want the bag with the wedge side down for the pyramid which generally won't be as stable as a bag on it's side on the barrel.
