    If the trash bill was recently added to your property taxes, check with your mortgage company to see if this is going to create an escrow shortage. Request an escrow analysis to verify this. The mortgage may not know about this increase from the trash bill.

      Ahhh..Good note! I will check with them because they love to send me a bill saying that I did not have enough money in escrow 😞

    Remember that you normally get 2 checks a month which would be 24 pay periods. By getting paid biweekly, you end up having 26 pay periods and the “additional” 2 pay periods will be the one month ahead. Usually 2 months a year, you’ll have 3 pay checks. If you’re not behind in bills, you’ll notice the one month ahead after that second 3 paycheck month. Hopefully that makes sense.

    Hi 👋🏾 advice i would give is please have some kind of emergency fund in place before or accumulating while paying for debt because if you end up having an emergency while paying off debt itll set you back quite a bit. Just my experience and 2cents. Love your channel sister

    Haven’t you been putting your expenses (grocery, household, gas & toiletries) in your spending account? However, leaving it in your bill account may be the way to go so you don’t think you have extra to spend. That’s how my mind would work. Also, I think you may have only counted 2 weeks on household and toiletries. Congratulations, you’re doing great! You have come so far in the last year or so, from having not enough each paycheck to saving as much as you have. 🎉

    I get paid fortnightly and was so excited to get a third paycheck at the beginning of last month only for me to get sick in the middle of the month having to take time off of work resulting in my last paycheck being onnly half of what it would normally have been, so I am not only not ahead but I have had to be tight with this fortnight's regular spending etc. All the more reason to get a head in case stuff like that come up again.

    Jazmine, thanks so much for your videos. They are really helping me! Especially when I fall off and have to crawl back to where I was. It helps knowing that there are besties in the trenches with me! I've been around since the homework series and I just realized I've been trying to tackle too much too soon. I like looking at it as one savings tracker at a time and I love how you said it might take a while, but we will get there! Keep up the good work and congrats on reaching those goals:)

      Hello, once you have enough to pay for one month use that to pay next month's expenses. Then all the checks you get for that month will pay for the next bills. Ex. If you saved enough to pay August (September) bills go ahead and use those funds to pay all of August (September)bills. Then August/ September to pay for September/October. I have a low(low) income and my third check this month is free. FYI - I have all my bills on autopay.

    You should feel at least something from the third check but I feel that you have to budget the current month and the following month. For example for me the only thing that comes out of the third check is my variable expenses (gas/groceries/eat out). However, paying September bills come close to the due date😂Mortgage is paid later than I normally would but it’s not late because the first check in September is later.

    So what does it mean to be 3-6 months ahead? The idea that I had about “one month ahead” was basically an emergency fund 😩

    • @chelsea3177
      @chelsea3177 Před měsícem

      Being 1 month ahead is like having a buffer in your checking account so you don't have to worry about when this month's paychecks are hitting your account. You can spend your normal expenses at any point in the month. For example, if your first paycheck of the month isn't until the 12th, if you had no buffer you wouldn't be able to spend anything those first 2 weeks.
      This month's paychecks will be used for next month's expenses. Some people have a buffer that is less than 1 full month, but still allows them that freedom. I don't think people usually do more than 1 month "ahead".
      Emergency funds are typically kept in a HYSA and cover at least 3-6 months. You don't touch this money unless you need it. The 1 month ahead/buffer can also of course be used in a true emergency.

    Thank you for this video! I’m still slightly uncertain about my 3rd paycheck this month… I’m pretty much 1/2 a month ahead but that actually makes me more confused. I budget an early month check and a later month check. My early check for August paid the bills due in mid-late August… and the later check pays early Sept bill (like mortgage).
    Anyway. I’m crunching the numbers and will get one month ahead eventually! 🦊💰🫶🏼
