I trained in stand up most of my youth mainly muay thai and boxing; havnt trained in a while.I need help with my defence and have NO ground game, would like to go to a gym where they train in all disciplines judo, jiu jitsu, and learn some new stand up techniques. any recomendations?
On one hand, it's comforting that a black belt struggles with big dudes too. On the other hand, it's discomforting that big dudes are still a fight at black belt.
This looks like a place that would make the intelligent/technical roller feel like coming back again and again. Doesn't seem to require intense tryhard and I didn't spot any roid ogres.
Not gonna lie, looking at 10th Planet's soaking wet mats is... eff that. Great vid, and also great gym at RoninJitsu with the non-soaking mats, like wtf.

Maybe somewhere in the future. To answer your question, generally not committing two hands to a technique while on bottom. Combat is all about being on top.
