Those hammer blades are designed to chop up brush. They have blades for grass. To adjust for the cutting height of the mower is done by the top link.

Once I saw the "hammer" flails, I wasn't surprised at the job it did in the heavier going....Mower was equipped with "hammers" which are for the heaviest cutting. There are at least three options in "blades" for flail mowers. I have "grass" blades on mine...(the lightest of all) they don't like the woody stuff, but do a wonderful job on grass, leaving an evenly-distributed layer of grass clippings and a "lawn-mower" cut.

I've heard if he goes with the heavier hammers he can mow the heavier stuff easier. Maybe, in the future, if he wants he can get a second set of hammers and let the new ones be for the brush and heavy weeds and keep the ones you showed for just grass/ moderate cutting. And, maybe get a couple jacks for the back of his trailer so the tractor can't warp his trailer or pick the tires of the truck off the ground and cause an accident. Just a couple suggestions. Another good video. Thanks!

As a general point of information, after you use a flail mower (with the proper scythes for the job...) you'll never go back to a rotary cutter. There are several good reasons for this. Do your research to find out more.

Couldn't the side or offset mounting with a higher mow height take out up to one inch trees or shrubs?
The way it 'mulches' mowed material is pretty cool. Flail mowers can be used for no-till agriculture & knock down cover crops prior to planting. Suggest a grapple hook front end to help 'pick up' around the farm for the field edges. Daniel raves about how helpful it is for him (arms family). One point of observing tractor vlogs is how many implements& homestead tasks you need done. You guys seem to have most of the tools you need. What do you think would be a the top 3 implements to have (outside of a hay kit)? It always seems like just one more tool is going to make things 'better'.
