An electric instrumentalist who cares more about song structure and melody then speed, licks and tricks. Wonders never cease.
And still, it is not easy to learn his licks, the way he plays them is not simple at all :)

Lot of Speed licks and tricks ! When you learn a song from this album you know that you'll get 85% done in less than 1 hour but the last 15% will need 3 months of intensive practice ..
Your way of thinking about playing guitar has really changed me. I've stopped trying to play fast, your simple notes have much more feeling than any super-speed solo in the world. You've become one of my favourite and most inspiring guitarists, keep it up. Regards.

Guthrie will change you forever and dude most of us guitarists over here are at that phase where we are able to play fast sweep etc. but now we crave being proper musicians. Jazz fusion is what you're looking for my friend

Who is Nick Johnston??? Why have I not heard this guy before? After 25 years of playing, it's so good to hear some one play shit straight from the heart... Great note choices and hooks there buddy, I can tell you have HUGE chops but use them with wisdom and restraint. Nice 1!
