- Hey, folks.
Starting a series of How To Print videos to supplement the STLs I release. It's a short overview of print orientation, support removal + post processing, and assembly.
This particular video is on the Sony E mount Full Frame lens but is applicable to almost all of the mirrorless 3D lens STLs.
Find the STLs and STEP files here: github.com/Archive-663/nishiK...
EDITOR'S NOTE: Files were originally on gumroad, but have since been migrated to github. for posterity the original gumroad link is here: bit.ly/3kdXfdC
Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them!
Cheers,
George

thanks so much! very hyped on this!
Hope you enjoy it!
@@georgemoua i surely will haha, it’s getting printed today and my camera shop should have three lenses for me by next week
I’ve got an ef to rf adapter so might give the ef version a try. Definitely going to reach out to my local camera shop and see if they have the lenses!
I have an RF version too! I can't be sure the ef version would work with an adapter
@@georgemoua Oh I see that now, thanks!
@@georgemoua Will the RF version be available for purchase, or attached to the kickstarter?
ohhhh hell yes!
just put it together! unfortunately 2 of the 3 lenses i got were from models of kodak fun saver that were pre-2015, so those two lenses give a slightly blurry, slightly larger image. I will get two more kodak fun savers asap and fix it! still realy like the look of my first shot with it though haha!
Thanks for saving me a major headache! 📷📷📷❤
@@AwkwardIntelligence very welcome!
Hello man, this project is awesome and I'd like to make it on my own. I'd like to know if your designs will also work with a Fujifilm QuickSnap lens.
This guy is so gangster. 🎞❤
Nice Gameboy 😎😎👍👍
Quite close to having this working. What is the difference between the two baffles?
Edit: I just saw the other video where you mention the two options. What I'm not sure is which of the baffles (file 1 or 2) is the good performing one. Thanks
Edit 2: I assumed it's the longer one. Assembly completed and running first tests! Looks great, light leaks are significant, but the kind of tape I could find did not improve them. I expect to publish some video made with this on my channel.
Where have you found the information about the differences of the two baffles? Also not sure which I should take.
Is there a plan for Nikon models?
Canon ae1 program and nikon d5300 work ?
Do you know the size of the kodiak lenses? Is it by chance 35mm?
Sorry for bringing this up, but I can't get my printer to print this cleanly enough, I'm on my seventh probably failing print again - I'm kinda new to this and it always looks... wiggely? I'm not sure. I guess this isn't really an issue with this tutorial, but printing general, but do you have some additional tips for printing? It seemed like a fun project (at first) to me (xd)
Is it possible for you to make the similar wiggle lens for micro four thirds cameras like Olympus or lumix? Really appreciate it!
You could probably print an m43 adapter and then use this
Fellow gameboy camera user I see 😎
Where do you put the flocking?
print quality would drastically improve if you printed one by one instead of multiple on each bed. also the new cura arachne update might allow this all to print faster
Really? Why is that, haven’t heard that before
Any chance for an EF or RF for APS-C size with just 2 lenses? I'm going to be using mine for cinema applications and most of us are shooting S35 or roughly APS-C. I don't think the 3 lenses will provide enough coverage on an Alexa or RED.
Funny you ask. I'm currently printing and testing an twin lens EF-s version. I'm almost finished with it.
@@georgemoua Amazing! Looking forward to it. Thanks for your hard work!
Is there a ready-made model for sale?
Not at the moment. I'm working towards a kickstarter that will let me produce ready-made lenses with less issues.
@@georgemoua good to hear man! Can’t wait to order one!
can I use different disposable camera's lens? like fujifilm simple ace or kodak daylight?
I think it has to be specifically the kodak fun saver lens, I've torn apart many other disposables and all of them have different lenses
APS-C only 2 lens? can't use 3 lens sir?
Thanks for this! Where can we get the lenses from?
They are from Kodak Funsaver disposable cameras. if you've got a local film lab, they probably have a ton that they just throw out so they're likely happy to just give them to you.
Yup, jacob is correct. Though a small caveat. The lenses should be from the newest revision of the funsaver, around 2015ish and up. Anything earlier might be a slightly larger lens diameter.
@@georgemoua thanks both
@@georgemoua Do you plan on selling these again? I am trying to get it printed but local printing companies don't seem very interested in taking orders. Some labs are also refusing to give me the used Funsavers, claiming Kodak won't let them. Got one so far
Not yet at least. I'm working on a kickstarter that should allow me to produce ready-made lenses quicker.
Hey man, for canon ef?
Should have the STLs for Full Frame Canon EF out by the end of the week.
@@georgemoua would there be any reason it COULDNT/WOULDNT work on say a Canon rebel?
Ah, will have a version specific to the EF-S mount shortly. Smaller mirror box can't accommodate the ef version
@@georgemoua Would you mind creating a plate for the fuji x mounts?
Just finished adding the FUJI X to the gumroad: bit.ly/3DfVRQq
Who are you?! Design an awesome product , then give away the design for free?!?!
