I hope you're enjoying your first fountain pen! If you write a lot, a fountain pen is the nicest, most comfortable pen to use. Ball points can induce "writer's cramp" very quickly - you don't get that with fountain pens. I think that's the main reason why fountain pens are still popular.
I can confirm you’re pronouncing Dryden right 😀 I have the hooded nib version but unfortunately it just stopped flowing and no amount of flushing fixed it permanently. Yours looks a lot better!
To be fair, the Waterman pens you are showing (they are called Phileas) used to be just a step up from Waterman's school pens and 200 USD is a bit too much for them.
Around here (Southern California) 200 is currently a conservative price for that Waterman. The school fountain pens around here are cheap Chinese crap and under 20 dollars. The next step up in local stores are MontBlanc and they start around 5 or 6 hundred. I'd love to have one but, at that price, I don't think I'd carry it around. It'd stay on my desk! The only Dryden I bought was a hard starter, I couldn't fix it so it sits in my drawer. I preferred my Wing Sung or Jinhao as a really budget pen. If you write every day, the Dryden is great, but I don't.

I have to agree with Katie Evans about the Wing Sungs and Jinhaos. In fact, I find Jinhao to make solid, reliable, satisfying inexpensive writers. Anb astonishing value. Also Hongdian -- who are coming out with some very nice piston fillers, for $30 US and less. I have a friend with the Dryden. He still uses it, some; but his assessment is, meh.
