- 2018 had a lot of beautiful and innovative MAPs come from it, and I'd thought I'd put my favorite Warriors ones all in one spot! This is just my opinion and it was extremely hard to choose only ten from this past year. I have my reasons why these were the ones I chose and why they're in this order, and if this video gets big enough I'll edit them into the description or put them in the comments.

The Five Giants after credits with Rusty and his collar made me tear up. Warriors has come so far as a series and it just makes me emotional.
Yeah I actually teared up myself at that part. I’ve been reading warriors ever since the second grade and I’ve pretty much grown up with it. I was there when all of these maps were first announced, and I’d often check up on Roxanne and Five Giants to see the progress. The animator community is truly wonderful!

Five Giants is definitely number 1 for me because I feel like it embodies everything so well both for the community and the cats since the beginning so well and there's still a long way ahead so I believe at some point we will get 5 Giants part 2 after a couple more books.

Five Giants was actually the MAP that inspired me to start animating. Before 2018, animation had never even crossed my mind. But in 2018, I discovered I wanted to do animation, and I started watching all of these amazing MAPs and even started my CZcams channel! I’m still far from doing good on my animations or taking part in MAPs, but I still loved what the Warriors community put together last year.
I recently started animating too. I’m making my first AMV but it will only be my animating and it’ll be voice acting.... it’s 12 FPS and at least 1 minute.... why did I commit to this.
Animating is such an amazing thing to be able to do! Good luck!!

I almost completely agree with your list! Last year was HUGE for MAPs with some long time awaited MAPs like Five Giants and Roxanne completed, and some new front runners like RAIEB and Man on the Moon! Here's my personal list, but it is very similar!
It's amazing how far the warriors community has come, and I'm looking forward for (hopefully) long awaited MAPs like We see the Light or My Eyes, and some of the recently hosted MAPs like Hellfire completed this year
skai thanks!! and yeah, everyone is gonna have opinions that differ a little but i think everyone has the best down. it’s honestly hard to put all these maps with such different concepts and animators and styles in one order. and yeah!! i have a good feeling about this year. i’ve been in this community for a while, a time long before scripts and designated designs and i’m so excited for upcoming projects. (we see the light and my eyes are definitely some favs i’m looking out for!!)
Plus, there are so many new animators joining and taking part in MAPs, and I'm really excited to see them improve!

@@hazelgrace5524 of course! other MAPs come to mind too now, although I'm not sure whether they're still in progress or cancelled, like Madness of King Tigerstar, Satisfied, Jimmy, He Whispers, Spider and the Lamps etc.! I really hope we'll get to see these completed this year

Yeah, Roxanne was originally #1 but I changed it since Five Giants was such a huge project and so many different animators got to be a part of it :]
@@lovesilkes498 I actualy agree with Roxanne being number 1 because it's not as confusing as Five giants can be. No offense to the people who participated but it's basically trying to fit in too many events from the series as possible (think of it as the last airbender in this case) Roxanne however was about only a few characters and was put together really smoothly.
star and orion true but the events portrayed in five giants are pivotal moments in the series and it doesn’t really take a lot of warriors knowledge to know what’s going on lol

I understood everything that was happening in Five Giants.
why are a lot of animation memes just obvious slideshows, (which is fine) but for some reason, warrior cat animations always put in a lot of effort to be truly animated and well drawn? I've always had respect for warrior art community because of this.
my last two brain cells Animation memes just tend to be for fun, they could either be really animated or just plain images, depends on what the artist would like to do. Usually map parts are really animated and drawn well because I mean of course you want to make a good part for a big project such as a map.
because animation memes are just for fun. They follow a certain format which is supposed to be easy so that people of all skill level can take part. If you're working on a map part of course you're going to put more effort into it and make it truly animated..it's a much bigger and time consuming project. Not a fair comparison tbh.

Honestly, I would of put Man On The Moon as my number one spot, I just love everything about it.
Had a feeling number one was gonna be Five Giants, it was such a long wait and it came out amazing.
Five Giants is a beautiful, heart renching masterpiece that is honestly the most impactful fan-made piece of art I have ever seen
2018 was such a great year for MAPs, I can't wait to see what people create this year! This list reminded me of some MAPs that I'd loved but forgotten about (like Cherry Pepsi), so now I've gotta go rewatch those. I mostly agree with the list, though there's a couple I would probably change.
I liked Roxanne and I was glad it finally came together, but I think the fire scene brought it down a little for me - everyone did really well with the art, but I'm a little tired of depictions of Squirrelflight being afraid and crying as Ashfur terrorizes her, because... well, Squirrelflight wasn't afraid, she was FURIOUS. The focus of Brambleclaw in it felt a bit out of place as well, given that it was a pretty personal scene to Squirrel and Ash. Other than that, it was a great project! I think my top ten list would have to be...

All the others on your list are great too, it's almost hard to find a MAP that I *don't* enjoy.

I feel as if The Five Giants is infinitely better than Ready as I’ll Ever Be, simply due to the beautiful way it summarizes the entire series we all love, and the unbelievable nostalgia it gives all of us.
The Five Giants was quite possibly the greatest MAP of all Warrior Cats history, and ranks high in the best MAPs of all time. A true brilliant masterpiece with so many gifted animators. Bravo!

2018 was, without a doubt, the best year for Warriors MAPs.
(I would’ve put Cat Tales on the list, though. Still, I agree that Five Giants is the best MAP of not only this year, but of all time.)

amy shin all it matters that it gets uploaded and the maps get finished nicely. It doesn’t really matter about how it’s uploaded. That doesn’t count.

All of these maps are unique and beautiful and where all worth the patience ( especially Five Giants )
and the people who helped create these masterpieces all deserve a round of applause 👏

Yes, many of these are my favourite maps. But where is Beautiful, Rusputin and lady stardust?
Rasputin is actully a very old song like when Lithuania was ocupied (Google history of Lithuania if you don't know this country :3)
Shiny Aura a couple of those are runner ups, but personally beautiful was little underwhelming for being such a big project (but it was still awesome!!), rasputin didn’t have a script and therefore lacked consistency, and lady stardust was perfect (and i 100% stan moth pool) but it was kinda boring. i still love ALL those maps! this is just a short list of my top favorites
Beautiful was not a very big map. Not saying it wasn’t good! But it wasn’t as famous. Lady stardust maybe could of been on there even though it’s high rep it might not of reached top ten. Rasputin wasn’t made in 2018

I saw a lot of these MAPs and honestly, so many Warriors fans have *amazing* talent! This video is even just scratching the surface of the amazing artwork, animation, etc.
These MAPs are going to be my inspiration for when I attempt animation. It'll be hard, but if I keep at it I'll be great!

I totally agree with this listing! 2018 was such a big year for Warriors MAPs with ones that have been in the making for years finally completed. There have also been a lot of distinct and memorable ideas from amazing people.

HOW THE FRICK DID I MISS THIS MAP! THIS HAD ME IN TEARS!!! HOW DID I OVERLOOK THIS! THIS WAS THE FIRST THING ABOUT WARRIORS THAT I HAVE EVER CRIED ABOUT! AND IT'S ABOUT THE DARKSTRIPE AND TIGERSTAR SHIP! to be honest I never even batted an eye at that ship intill I watched this map. this map is definetaly one of my favorite maps of 2018. thank you for adding it on this list.

this is a longwinded comment bc im just a big warriors MAP enthusiast lol
excellent picks (including runner ups!) a few other MAPs i can think to mention that were not included are Bruno is Orange (Bluestar MAP) hosted by charminq which is just fantastically coordinated and Firestar 7 Years hosted by Theatricals for making me to cry to a song I don't even like that much. You Make Me Feel hosted by Nothflower and I Can't Decide hosted by Owlspark were really good Mapleshade MAPs. Jolene hosted by Aviator Zoroark were also really good. We were blessed with that good TallJake content with Word of Your Body (Aviator Zoroark), Remember Me (ShadowedKing), and For Forever (FallowHallow) . ANIMALS hosted by SurdiOcean gets props to me for the awesome voice acting element to it.
If this was a top 13 then I would definitely have I See Fire, Bruno, and Oleander on the list. But I think you really hit the nail on the head, especially with your top two. (I think I might have Unravel higher just because that MAP really hit me even though I haven't even touched reading the AVOS arc lol).
Ready As I'll Ever Be in particular had me more pumped than almost any other MAP I can think of. Like I don't know if it was necessarily the first MAP to do thumbnail contests and generate a lot of hype but holy shit did I mcfreaking lose it when it finally premiered. Just fantastic character design all around (breezepelt especially) some extremely ambitious animations in that one (the part with all the big crowd of thunderclan and starclan cats cheering really blew me away).
BUT Five Giants really does deserve the top spot like... It makes me so emotional just thinking about how much heart and talent was put into that one, and like god does it really showcase what warrior cats is all about. There could be no better love letter tribute to this community than this video.
Some other thoughts:
There were a also lot of fun AU Concept and LGBT MAPS/PMVs this year too but I feel like Cherry Pepsi best embodies everything I love about the new ideas people have been coming up with (And I'm super excited to see that trend continue into 2019). Just fun song choices and/or style choices like the Sleekwhisker Take a Hint, Shiny Scourge MAP hosted by DekuCube, Heart of Life, and Apology Song, are really changing the variety of what we can expect to see from warrior MAPS. MAMA We All Go to Hell was a super fun map to start off 2019 with.
Some of the upcoming MAPS I'm really currently most excited about are things like Fire on Fire by owlipoppen, King of the Clouds hosted by didntfinishthemilk, Gulf hosted by Creamykittn, Shelter hosted by RedBear, "Rewrite The Stars" Mothwing & Leafpool hosted by Bliximi (I REALLY hope we will see more fan song/cover/voice acting MAP and PMVS tbh), Everything Stays hosted by -Pumpkin-, Some Nights hosted by Neon Cats, ISSUES Classic/2011 Ashfur hosted by cranburry, |BlueStar| Belle hosted by yEcoGamer, Heart Attack hosted by Blaky, and Fire Escape RunningRed and Hello Kitty both hosted by PeppermintPretzels. I've seen a lot of these hosts parts before and thrilled to see them hosting their own projects that will hopefully bring them more recognition. Happy Little Clouds underrated animators MAP is sure to showcase some fresh faces too.
And finally I'm always super excited to see any MAPs with parts by animators like Nifty-senpai, Sagutoyas, chikki, corvid katana, HITA eighthsun, Finchwing, and Alex Harrier!! When You Grow Up your Heart Dies hosted by Chikki gave me chills just from the MAP call so I'm really looking forward to that. I've been especially excited for Noodler's Devil's Backbone since seeing Nifty's part. (And although its not a MAP I think we're all excited to see the polished version of Bluestar Little Pistol no matter how long it takes).
I think all of these were chosen well for the list. The Five Giants was definitely my favourite MAP of the year 😁

5 Giants will always be my #1. It perfectly represents how connected a community can become. I cry every time I watch it, from nostalgia alone. Your video also opened my eyes to the true meaning of our fandom. It’s beautiful man, beautiful.
It's amazing to see so much of the talent of this community all in one video! I agree with most of your picks, especially The Five Giants being as high up as it is, though personally I'm Not Ready would be a close second for me. What a great year!

I was actually here for the start of Warriors animation (all the way back with AlliKatNya) and it's truly gratifying to see the amount of talent and dedication that people put into these projects. Five Giants gives me chills every time I watch it, and Ready as I'll Ever Be is a truly amazing production. I'm a continued fan of the series and I really cannot wait to see what everyone comes up with in the coming years. I would love to see something similar to Five Giants with the more updated stories (and maybe some from Dawn of the Clans as well). Amazing job by everyone!!

Personal opinion: Ready as I’ll Ever Be is better than The Five Giants.
Five Giants for me wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. Part quality inconsistency was a big problem. And design inconsistency was an issue too. A problem Ready ad I’ll Ever Be didn’t have. Also in RaIEB’s parts flowed better and had much smoother transitions than Five Giants.
Rasputin, even if it didn’t have a script, flowed together beautifully as well, so I’m surprised it didn’t make in on the list.
Nightleaf Of RiverClan i considered that (about the designs in five giants). and it was honestly a really hard time placing raieb as #3 when it was such a fantastic map. but after seriously considering it, there was a emotional connection the community had to give giants that wasn’t there for raieb (or at least how i saw it). given they were completely different maps of different length, stories, and animators, it was hard to order them how i did. if i couldn’t put raieb, roxanne, and five giants at #1 i would.

@@tictaccandy9217 A map is when multiple people animate a different part, a pmv is where a single person animates/tweens a music video, unless its a pmv map!
I had almost completely forgotten about these amazing maps, and I whole-heartedly agree with the final five. Tourner Dans Le Vide really gave me a new outlook on Darkstripe and Tigerclaw. I'm Not Ready gave me a really big feels trip as I felt that Swiftpaw's emotions were protrayed just as I imagined them in the books. RAIEB was one that I got no less than amazing from; it had that adrenaline that I love. Roxanne was the one that I was looking forward to the most, and oh boy, was I blown away by that. The expressions were absolutely top notch. And Five Giants was the only MAP that I sobbed at the end to. All that Warriors nostalgia really took my back to my preteen years and was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. So thanks so much for sharing your opinion!! I really enjoyed watching this!
Five giants was a giant in itself! It took a long time to finish, but eventually, all of the artists pulled through and made one of the most inspirational maps I've ever seen!! I also really enjoyed Johanna, Unravel and Roxanne!! All of which you can feel the amount of effort that into each one. I'm proud of all my animation peers, even if they managed to make me cry during the Five Giants.

I definitely agree with #2 and #1 cause those MAPs were very highly anticipated MAPs that so many people were hyped over and I'm glad Roxanne and Five Giants were completed in the same year.

I'm not ready was one of the most emotional ones last year in my opinion. The last few seconds were so heartbreaking, tho I agree with you guys on five giants
I never realized til seeing this, but 2018 was an amazing year for the MAP community! We got projects that we've been waiting on for so long like Roxanne and especially Five Giants, and have gotten sudden MAPs that have left us stunned. Amazing year! Hope to keep this inspiration going into 2019!!!

oh my gosh, having seen just about all of these, I COULDNT AGREE MORE!
And man, Five Giants, as Bawsfox said, is a MASTERPIECE. Such a large MAP with such dedicated and amazing animators deserved the millions of views it received. Truly a fine contribution to this fandom.
Of course, that doesnt mean the rest of the MAPs shown here arent wonderful! Such as Man on The Moon- I followed as many parts of that one until it was finished and it's a favorite of mine!
Meanwhile El Tango De Roxanne has such an intense, dramatic atmosphere, and the visuals in each part truly depict Ashfur's struggle and his pain over Squirrelflight in such... such a spectacle way!
There's so much we can say about these MAPs, but there's no doubt that each are oh-so special and very much admirable.

Yas five giants was probably the best map of warrior I’ve seen yet. It explains the wholes series really good and great scenes for all clans. I especially love th moth flight scene

All of these MAPs are absolutely GORGEOUS! I would have added Oleander to this list though, it’s such a pretty one!

this takes me down memory lane . . . I love all these MAPs and I remember watching 'Ready As I'll Ever Be' and, come to think of it, It's almost the anniversary . . . it's april 6th and the song was published at the end of april . . . what a coincidence!

My favorites are Five Giants, Tourneer Dans Le Vides, Rasputin, and Cabinet Man.

2018 was an amazing year for maps, I hope 2019 can be just as great! It will always surprise me to see how many maps were completed, and how amazing they were in this past year. Congratulations to all the animators who made these happen!

Five Giants was a wonderful MAP! I keep watching it, just a suggestion, but ``We all Still Die`` was also a very well done map. I love all the ones u put on here! Btw ppl dont come at me for a suggestion, OH and lol yes it must have been very hard coming up w just 10, I'd have to choose at least 40.
