The cellist is me!! I'm Wendy Solomon and I'm the cellist with Bowfire and also the creator and arranger/composer for LUSH cello quartet. Working with Natalie and her band was so much fun and inspirational! So glad I could be there.
Who could possibly dislike this wonderful artist ,,full of vibrance and vitality, would love to have Her on any sunday night @ our "Real Ceili in camden town,,"""what a Person Anton Coyle
*nods* It used to be my favorite, too. I saw her perform it live, so I got the CD, but at the moment, I'd have to say my favorite on that CD is now "NPG- The Sunday Reel". I just LOVE the little battle between the bagpipes and the violin in the beginning.
this music is so beautiful, nataile is so talented! im doing this song for a fiddle group thing, its awesome, but i dont think it will ever, ever sound as good as this. anywho, absolutely breathtaking
Nice job Wendy!....I loved this woman from day one at the Grey Fox fest a few years ago..She did an amazing Maratime scottish dance (for lack of a better description) that put regional respect in place!!!...LOL....ANd we went to the workshop of fiddlers where all the greats were there.what an experience.......she is a sweetheart.......Big fan now!....
Really nice - have decided that I'll go where the music is as long as I am able. Saw Natalie a few years ago - a celebration at the end of Cape Breton - a wonderful afternoon and evening.
Natalie is so awesome! This version is a little different from the one on her CD, "Yours Truly", but I still love it! She is so pretty and her talent is unmatched! Thanks for putting this on here, morigue!! ^_^
@TheWendysolomon - Wow! I saw her perform last night in Maine! Wendy, I started playing the cello recently at the age of 55 and am SO impressed with your performance in this piece! I am now going to check out Bowfire!
I wouldn't worry about the no-likes. They probably just haven't given it a chance. I was a little disappointed when I first heard. I'd always been a Nathalie fan, this ain't your father's Cape Breton fiddle. But now I play the darned thing so often it drives my wife wild. And to see a performance like this, I'd fly across the continent. Hell, I might even walk across the continent. She's simply the best. And it doesn't hurt that she's cute and a good Catholic girl.
You are an amazing cellist! I would love to play with you (I'm a fiddler). I don't know whether you're from Cape Breton or not, but you really get this great music. Barava!
Just revisiting this performance after years...I was a last-minute replacement cellist--had a little over a week to learn and memorize the whole programme, fly out to Cape Breton and perform/record it. I think I would've smiled more if I'd had another week to woodshed--lol. Natalie McMaster and her whole group were amazing to work with. Such talent! Loved every minute. Learned to 'chop' for this.
@@TheWendysolomon thanks for responding. That is so awesome that you got to do that with her. She seems so sweet. Her mom handwrote a personal note and stuck it in an order for one of her albums.
Did anyone else notice she is wearing 4 body packs . I figure one is the pickup on her fiddle, one is the mic behind the bridge, another could be in ear monitors but what is the 4th for?
This song is available on the AMAZING Compilation - cdbaby.com/cd/amazing 121 songs from 111 artists for just $10. All proceeds to prostate cancer research.
lazy guitarist looking for guitar tab/chords of first accompaniment. If you know where it can be found online, or which music book, it would be greatly appreciated. this makes me want to take up fiddle all over again... thanks, roreh

This is the song I want to have played at my funeral.

I love how she gets so into the music, even before she starts playing. :)
She is awesome! Such joy, in her heart!
I got to see Natalie live in Edmonton as a pre teen, she's who I wanted to grow up to be.
SHE IS COMING TO MY SCHOOL TOMORROW (along with her husband and kids)!!!
Another grea tCape Breton Artist. We met her in Carbondale Illinois a couple of yearas ago, and created a few more Caper fans down here.
This is my strutting down New York City streets music, I absolutely love Natalie!!! I need to know when's the next time she'll be performing in NYC.

Amazing band and violinist! I think I have to learn this song now. Fantastic video, thanks for sharing!
Superb ! I've always loved her style !
She came to Dublin (Ohio) for the Irish Festival and her bass player was frickin' AMAZING.

2007 and Canada - unfortunately both far away from here and today. Cape Breton seems to be full of joy.
Brilliance.

thanks to JoeD for sharing this link in the Tigers Den !
Twa words
Wow. Say it twice
This seems a little out of a cello players normal realm of music, but I really like it.
She plays cello as good as Natalie fiddles.

She should do a video with the Pianoguys!
seems a tad bit faster than the one on her CD....but still love!!!

You should take it up again
Who is the cellist?
Is this tune one of Natalie's own?
Yes. And an awesome one.
Alvvays brought me here
I am some kind of stalker, but I am old, and very slow.
My father actually knew her
Please forgive me it was Bathurst.
Catholic Answers Live anyone? :P
Is she related to Lindsey Stirling? Because they both play the violin/fiddle very well.
Bratwurst ?
