SIDE NOTE: Louis must have that 'sauce' baybeeeeeeeeee cause it brings all the legendary ancient vamps to the yard lol
Louis and his face and eyes when he called Armand the 'love of his life' was like WOAH -- his words were saying one thing and the rest of him was saying 'HELP ME'. GET OUT OF THERE, GIRL!
This is where he's suppose to blink twice!
The director also suggested that Armand may be manipulating Louis versions of the story and theres a lot more to their dynamic to explore, also season 2 is already confirmed since september!😀
That obviously means we've yet to see the true version of the Vampire Lestat. Which makes it exciting
@@nebulous8389 yup, was he actually abusive or just Armand twisting shit
louis is a unreliable narrator rn so I cant wait till s2 to see the TRUTH
This show was so good. The cast, the writing. Like I was so impressed with this

In the words of Bree Runway Claudia “ Been That Girl “ that double cross was chef’s kiss
Daniel though is an MVP! He has called Louis out everytime!
That's the only thing I like about Daniel is that he calls Louis out on his bullshit but the sad part is Louis might end up killing him for that.
@@Firespawnable i think if anyone will kill him,it may be Armand. I think Armand has been messing with Louis mind
@@pookiesis1465 Even if Armand is messing with Louis mind I think Louis is already fucked up in the head mentally anyway otherwise Louis would not keep getting into relationships with abusive older men. 🙄
Oh babe if you thought Lestat was bad you are not ready for Armand. 😂
The best way I can explain this situation is if Emma Frost used her Telepathy to keep Scott away from Jean.
So Lestat and Armand know each other well and you will most likely see Lestat go to Armand for help in season 2 but that doesn’t work out too well for Lestat.
Armand meets Louis when he and Claudia arrive in Paris and he instantly wants Louis.
Uhm Armand isn’t too interested in Claudia being around and that’s all I’m gonna say. 😂
Armand is somewhat stronger than Lestat back then, but definitely is not stronger in the present for a very specific reason which Lestat name dropped in this episode “Those who must be kept.”
Armand’s primary Dark Gifts are The Mind Gift and The Spell gift, he’s basically Professor X with a little telekinesis too.
So this episode had some interesting symbolism. Louis and Lestat dressed in all white like it’s their wedding, dancing and kissing on the dance floor, emotionally in sync.
Contrast that with Armand standing next to Louis but above him at the end of the episode. They are dressed in black as they have all season like it’s a damn funeral and Louis forces a grin to tell Daniel he’s the love of his life.
Armand is using the mind gift to affect Louis's memory like he did with Daniel in the 80’s. I think this is why we never see them sleeping at the same time if Armand sleeps at all anymore to keep Louis under control.
I think Daniel definitely broke Armand’s spell over Louis in the first interview which is why Louis almost killed him from the trauma of remembering. I think that’s why Louis brought him back again to help him escape.
YOU HAVE GIVEN ME HOPE. THIS THEORY HAS ENLIGHTENED ME OH THANK GOD, THIS MEANS
THE DOMESTIC ABUSER LESTAT MISCHARACTERIZATION COULD BE A DELIBERATE FARCE
AND
NO MORE FUCKING LOUIS X ARMAND GLORIFICATION. THERES A REASON THEY SEPARATED IN THE BOOKS WHILST LESTAT AND LOUIS WERE ENDGAME
the Armand reveal had me shook b/c not only is he powerful but (in the earlier books at least) he is DEVIOUS and malicious.
I don't remember Armand and Louis being together in the books. Man, your analysis was awesome.
@Elliot Alderson I think Louis is aware that Lestat is alive specifically because of the rerecording of the song Lestat made for him. The record sounds more current than the original with Antonette's voice.
I'm still convinced that Lestat's popstar era already happened.
I think Louis and Lestat probably have seen each other by now but Armand is keep Louis on a short leash.
When I mentioned that Louis has been wearing all black during this interview it's because Louis typically wears a lot of color.
He and Lestat like vibrant clothing and even in the 80's Louis was still wearing color and his personality was more like how it was in the past as we saw him flirting with Daniel.
He kinda emulates Armand now almost like Puppet master pulling strings.
I think a lot has happened between the first and second Interview because Armand's control seems to be more extreme now.
@Elliot Alderson The production on the record Louis played of Lestat is too modern for it to be from that time period, It's even on Itunes and listening to it there it doesn't sound old.
It's very likely Louis is aware Lestat is alive because of how the show has emphasized that Two Interviews take place. one in the 80's and one in present day. This doesn't happen in the books and what I think the reason for that is they are dividing the two main trilogies into two periods. The reason for that is because there is a 30 year gap between Queen of the Damned and Prince Lestat. so if The Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned took place in the mid to late 80's that means the Prince Lestat trilogy would be happening right now.
Lestat is in self exile at the start of PL so he wouldn't even be aware of what's going on with Louis and Armand.
Louis and Lestat don't really get back together for good until the PL trilogy so they could've gone back and forth in the 80's only for Lestat to ghost Louis.
That would leave Armand there to pick up
the pieces and gain full control of Louis.
Had me clutching my pearls when he snatched up my sister Claudia like that 😨
The new reigning Chess Master: Claudia! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🙌🏽
Queen’s Gambit! ♟ 👑
Louis should have let Queen Claudia finish the job😂 Daniel ate his ass up as per usual😂 and idk who Armand is but it’s giving Lestat on crack, Louis you in danger girl😅
Daniel is old and doesn’t give a fuck. He let’s Louis have it every week 😂
@@kunglaoshat1250 Daniel said I do what I want, baddie mentality😂
You got it. He’s Lestat on PCP. What he does to Claudia in the movie is trash. But what he does in the book is the landfill.
@@pagingdrbitchcraft I need to get my hands on the books I know there were some references that I missed, and if Armand is as bad as you say I gotta know before they drop season 2
And Daniel was my saving grace because Louis had me wanting to drop him from the thinnest layer of the atmosphere too 😂
Once again Daniel asking the right questions!!!
The tea is that Armand's gift is that he can alter/remove people's memories, and that's all i'm gonna say there
Love your recaps 💙 Claudia's plan was perfect she completely outplayed Lestat and Antoinette. Buy my girl failed to account for Louis' love for Lestat getting in the way. Like Daniel said he chose Lestat over Claudia time and time again.
It's pretty obvious at the end that Armand is manipulating Louis. I can't wait for you to learn more about Armand in season 2 cause if you think Lestat is bad Armand is on another level.
Girl, that was her weakness, Louis.
I really hope Lestat don't get their asses in season 2 because only God knows what he'll do to them😳😳😳 Louis is moving from toxic (Lestat) to crazy level toxicity (Armand)
Bad choices all around...
He wont take his revenge. He loves Louis, if he ever wants to see him again. Lestat will have to come correct like he has some sense.
@@ninetimesaday Louis and Lestat get back together at the end of the series. With a better understanding and more respect for one another.
It’s important to remember there is unreliable narration. Not to gaslight DV, but knowing what happens in the books, there’s more to the story
@@MellyP22 I have not read the books, will Lestat ever do narration
You can watch the movie from 1994 to get some idea of what happens but to really know you would have to read the entire collection. Armand is more powerful than Louie and you would think because of his age more powerful than Lestat, but Lestat has had interaction with the Queen of the Damned, Akasha. So Lestat has powers he has told nobody about. That is why The Brat Prince lives.
Keep in mind though this is reimagined by the writer's, so it's not going to be exactly as Anne Rice wrote. Season 2 can not come soon enough. Great review. Your laughter is infectious.
Also, the more fledglings a vampire makes, the weaker those fledglings are. Lestat was made a 300 year old vampire that had never made another fledgling, so Lestat was born on 3rd base in terms of vampiric power.
@@JeantheSecond Great point. Thank you.
I played that last line of Louie twice and saw his expression. And I could be wrong, but it looked like an expression of PANIC. Almost ironic in a way. That he tried to get from under the thumb of one powerful vampire, but ended up under the rule of another. It makes me now look at Louie's apartment in present day through different eyes. And the rigid schedule he has and all of that. None of that is Louie, because he was always emotion based (which made for a good match with Lestat). But under Armond's care (or rule) everything is all gray and perfect and structured and organized. Which may be Louie's biggest PRISON yet. Whew I can't wait for Season 2!
Also, I love Claudia so MUCH!! This actress did that!!
Nah Louis is in the sunken place for real with Armand. If you think Lestat is bad you can’t even begin to realize what we’re gonna get with Armand next season. Believe or not but in the books Loustat is endgame.
Why is Louis' type older men who are controlling and codependent? 😭😭Armand's NO ONE to play with, just know that and in the original books & movie is responsible for Claudia's death. But this is a whole new spin so who knows. Just know not to try ARmand and Louis is at least half in the sunken place. oof
Also, Claudia is THAT girl!
12:34 Armand is an ancient Vampire. He was the owner of the Theatre de vampires in France in the books (those were clippings from his theater in the binder he threw at Daniel's feet). There is a lot more to his character and the stories (there are 13 books in the Vampire Chronicles series by Anne Rice and like 7 or so include Lestat), but he wasn't Louis'lover in the books. I'm glad they took this liberty. I can't tell you more about Claudia because it will ruin things. I will say, however, that this season did not even cover all of Book 1. There are easter eggs about the other books and other characters but I'm sure season 2 will finish up the book. I can't wait to for it to air.
Lestat will most likely have to come save Louie in season 2 because what I’m hearing Armand is not the one to be played with
Glad we got a S2
I knew when I saw Louie slit his throat that he didn't want him dead. Remember how he told Daniel the blood spilled out he was releasing the poison out of Latstat's body. Louie didn't want to betray Lastat, and he felt guilty because Claudia took care of him so he felt he owed her after turning her, for him taking her life. So he felt a sense of obligation to her but his heart always belonged to Lastat. He said the vampire bond was the strongest bond.
Did anyone else notice at the end with Lastat reaching out in the sunlight. It didn't hurt him. Lastat is coming back for his man...🤣
Yes they have a renewal for season 2.
Yeah, Lestat is a daywalker just like Armand is. Another thing he lied to Louis about.
I noticed that but didn't question it 🤣
@Lenora. I was actually confused seeing him above ground. Didn't the book say he was buried?
@@ninetimesaday He's not a daywalker. He hid from the sun in episode 2 when he went out during the day to open the door for Louis. In episode 7 we can also see that his hand had severe burn marks due to him grabbing all these rats in plain daylight.
@@ninetimesaday
Exactly, you notice how Armand was able to levitate too. So yes, for all we know Lastat could be older than he's saying.
they renewed this for a second season even before it aired loll
Lestat will teach them ....there is death and there is "true" death ........by holding Louis there in Dubai ,Armand has put out the "call " to Lestat .....he is using Louis/and Daniel like a cell phone tower .................................Lestat and Armand have history
Well, Armand is more of a handful. He will send poor Claudia to her demise. Season 2 is going to be good!
Such a good show! Yeah, it was announced before the first episode even aired that it was renewed for a 2nd season.
You have to watch the movie so you can know who Armand is. I almost fainted when he said “This is the Vampire Armand.”
No, definitely you shouldn't if actually knowing who Armand is is what you want. Not Antonio Banderas fault, the script and direction for the character were awful. What the series showed up until now about Rashmand is way closer to the books than the film's so yeah, wait for season 2 or read the books
@Elliot Alderson By knowing the character I also meant to know he's a Villain as much as every character in the VC is. He's done awful things, of course. As far as I read (middle of Blackwood farm + Mayfair books, I don't want spoilers, thanks 🙏🏻) MAYBE I could excuse David just for a little bit from that list. They're immortal not-human beings trying to cope with eternity, solitude, changes and themselves, plus the psychological damage they all carry as it was a requisite for them to be turned lol.
What I mean is that I don't like the wave of "you didn't like Lestat, just wait to know the monster Armand is" comments because I think it's just a part of him, and there's LOTS more.
The fact that with all the shit that happened to him he's still able to sort of selflessly love others despite it'll eventually bring him pain (Daniel, Sybelle, Benji) is more than some of the other characters show.
But yeah, I'm not objective. I'll protect this kid with my life haha.
I saw someone say on Twitter that Louis and Armand’s relationship may be similarly abusive. They used the example that all the books are where Louis can’t reach them (because as he mentioned before, he doesn’t have the “cloud gift”) and we all know how much Louis loves to read. Also, that flashback of Louis crying over Lestat’s body is different from the account he had just stated, where he was composed. That may signify that Armand is manipulation Louis’s memories.🫣
Also, that book case design may just be a stylistic choice but idk, even when Louis was depressed about Claudia he was surrounded by books and newspaper. I can’t really say too much about how he would personally style his own home because throughout the show he has always lived in someone else’s home😂😂 but idk as an avid book reader it makes 0 sense to purposefully inconvenience himself to get a book off a shelf in his own home.
This show was great. I am happy that there will be a season 2. The writing, acting and production was phenomenal. And Rashid/Armand....thats a whole 'nother story 😂
- I wasn't surprised about Louis's feelings... Remember, Lestat had been working on Louis from Day one!... (brainwashing, love-bombing, manipulation, isolation, vampire telepathy, etc.) *Lestat was really good to Louis sometimes and it made you forget some of the bad things., It was an emotional roller-coaster!
For show only peeples, I'm here to tell you Armand is so much worse than Lestat, like expontentially worse
😳 uhh oh.
People are being dramatic. Armand is not worse than Lestat. A case can be made that Lestat is worse.
Weak in the knees head ass, codependant head ass, its giving daddy issues
@@ninetimesaday Armand the leader of a Satanic cult isn’t worse the Lestat. Armand who kills (spoiler) isn’t worse than Lestat. Armand who stalks and torments (spoiler). I think you need to reread the books
Lolll I really love Lestat and I was still laughing along with you when you were dragging him, love your commentary 😂 season 2 can't come soon enough!
For Anyone who has NOT YET read the books, especially 'Interview with the vampire' I highly recommend that you do, so that way you have some more context AND contrast as well.
I say don't watch the movie until the show is complete. They've done so well with this story (so far) that I think they might manage to make even more of an impact telling it this way.
Best…show…ever!
The show is an Adaptation of the book, taking a lot of liberties with the material.....so, technically you don't need to watch the movie with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt (which follow the books more). As a reader of The Vampire Chronicles (and huge Anne Rice fan) I enjoyed the movie, and I was skeptical about the show. But I am loving the show. THIS Lestat is what fans have been waiting for.
I totally agree. I was very on the fence about even giving the show a chance but I'm glad I did. I can appreciate the liberties the writers took. If you watch the part that comes on after the episode with the director he goes in depth with their decisions to deviate from the books - like why they made Louis black, the age up of Claudia, etc. If anything, I would suggest that anyone interested in knowing how things could potentially go, read the books (or listen to them). Hell I might even have them in digital form if anyone is interested.
@@alizered AMC is also doing a series on the Mayfair Witches. I'm really looking forward to it now....... An episode 7, Lestat mention those who must be kept.... I screamed!
@@Jem2Jerica , the Mayfair sisters were mentioned in the first episode when Paul was indignant about "jumping the broom" for a wedding. He said something like there were plenty of brooms at the Mayfair house and Grace complained he was calling her a witch.
@@HuntingViolets yeah, I caught that.
@@alizered I'm interested in reading the digital books if you got them for free lol 😂
Should I ruin it for you... or just keep my theories for next season to myself??? Because my theory leans heavily into what happens in the second half of the books.... man I love this show SO damn much. Also they have already renewed for the second season, Jacob is in the middle of filming for another project but I think they will get started filming season 2 soon after he is finished.
Louis is under yet another spell, this time from Armand.
Remember in the books Armand used any means to get Louie to be his boo including feeding rid of Claudia
You need to understand that Lestat might not be as bad this story portrays him and Armand might be the main abusers
They’ve changed their characters but in the book Armand isn’t abusive in the way Leatata is but he’s a crazy vampire purist and Louis doesn’t really mesh with that in the long run as he struggles with embracing the monster part of him.
I'm glad someone is doing a reviews of this show it was so good and Armond watch the interview with the vampire movie that would answer sum questions regarding armond
In my honest opinion, Claudia was only mad at Lestat because he was everything she wanted to be, he had the power, he was an adult and could fly and turn other vampires and had the love of his life with him. Claudia was deeply envious and hated her life but instead of blaming Louis (whose really at fault let’s just be honest) she blamed Lestat and focused all her anger on him because in reality Lestat was no more abusive then either her OR Louis. Lestat also never lied to them, everything he ever said to them was the truth but Claudia’s hatred couldn’t allow her to see it, and it will be her downfall. Louis in the end chose to save Lestat because as much as he loves Claudia, he loves Lestat more and can’t let him go. I know that Lestat survives this but I LOVED how they showed that it was Louis that saved him, it’s a testament to how deep their love goes it does beg the question however of where is Lestat now? I can’t wait to see 2022 Lestat, and to see how different he might be.
watching the original movie can give you a little bit of insight, but they've changed so much for the show in the way of events and themes it's impossible to tell where they are going.
Louis needs to get his groove back.
So Armand is toxic as hell in the books he dated Daniel for a little while and turned him into a vampire
@Kurome Holder Which book was that in?
@@juliansmoma queen of the damned devil minion
@@Moonchild12151 oh, ok thanks!
You gotta go watch the 94 interview with the vampire movie. That movie was so good at the time…. (Of course it looks cheap now), but man o man it was classic at the time.
Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Kirsten Dunst, Antonio Banderas.. just classic classic
I was annoyed with Louis to. Claudia went through all of that planning just for Louis to save Lestat. Very annoying.
This show is so good ! I hope the actors get nominated for an award. Did anyone notice Louis face when he said Here’s Armand the love of my life ? It didn’t sound convincing lol Louis likes to read but Armand has the books high up where he can’t reach them. Armand’s comments were also creepy. I care more about him then does himself. I protect him from himself hmmm 🧐 why did he pretend to be human all that time ? I can’t wait see what unfolds in season 2
Love the movie so much, I watched that VHS like crazy lol, and listening to you break the episodes down every week I need to binge this on my next day off.
I haven't watched this show yet, but I was a HUGE Anne Rice fan in high school. I need to reread the books because from these reviews some of my favorite characters are more toxic than I remember. I will definitely watch this series though!
Louis is definitely under the influence of Armond he was a cult leader so he knows how control people. Besides in the film he killed Claudia so I don’t trust him
Louis stay jumping from toxic relationship to relationship. I feel like Armand mind controlled him.
He's not dead
I just hope like "The Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned" books - they combine those as well... So, if you do watch the 1997 version do a review so we can let you know what we think might had happened in Paris...
🙄; Louis really loved Lestat and didn't want to kill him, But he was scared too!., because If Claudia plan didn't work he could've beat both of their as&!
Armand is a big deal in the books. He is not a good guy lol buckle up for a ride in season 2.
Since Louis got murderous over his own sister calling Lestat his "White Daddy", I was sure it would be Louis killing Tom after the "fag" insult. But nope! R.I.P. (for a few months) Lestat de Lioncourt.
i was GAGGGED! the girls gave us a claudia salad….superior!
The irony of the entire series is that at the end of the day, even the all powerful, controlling, charismatic vampire Lestat🧛still had to run away from his family because they got on his damn nerves😂🤣😅😆 He wasn’t really into Antoinette, she just provided him refuge from the Prince of Gloom, Louis and his sister disappointment, Claudia. Those two ran him out of his own damn townhouse EVERY night😅😂🤣😆😃🤣😂🤣
It was renewed for a second season before the first episode aired. Probably because it wasn't on Netflix.
Armand is more powerfull than Louis, but Lestat is more powerfull than Armand. Lestat has the power of being the favorite of Ane Rice...so.... most powerfull kkkkkkkk
That's the best power.
Thankfully, IWTV was renewed for season 2 before the first episode even dropped
I did not get the ending of this episode and came straight to CZcams to find my answers 😭

Claudia is nothing more than a spoiled child who caused a divide between Loui and Lestat, and I can't believe she was one ahead of Lestat but I have to since that's what the show tells us.
I gotta check out this show! Where do I watch it?
AMC or AMC+, and it’s on CZcamsTV app
I love your commentary it was so funny but armond is an important character in the books and it is renewed for another season I can’t wait because you Louie is full of shit by saying armond is the love of his life when we all know it’s lastat because when he shows back up Louie is gonna melt like hot butter
This video is evidence of something that I don’t like about AMCs adaptation. It makes me sad that new fans know Lestat simply as an annoying domestic abuser. Book fans know that this is a GRAND misrepresentation of his character.
But his death scene was perfect. It was perfectly intimate, which felt like a ray of light amidst all the memory fuckery. It did service to Louis and Lestat’s Vampire bond, showing how even in death, they cannot separate themselves from each other.
I mean I think anyone perceptive enough should have caught the clues that not is all what it seems to Louis' story. Especially with this ending they make it quite clear something very fishy is going on and Daniel calls Louis out on his story so many times throughout the show.
I feel your pain, we know Lestat never hurt Louie. We just have to keep in mind Louie is totally being manipulated by Armand in this version.
I mean this is supposed to be just Louis point of view, plus a little of Claudia’s for right now. And they already established that Louis’s memories are fucked and he tells half truths and is an unreliable narrator so it’s really the audience’s fault for taking everything he said as truths when it’s obvious we are NOT supposed to fully believe him. And Claudia as well was just so full of hate that she was never going to see good in Lestat, so we shouldn’t take her story as truth also. I believe Season 2 we will get more perspective and actually see Lestat’s POV and that’s where non book readers will realize that he was never all bad. But in my honest opinion I do get confused at the people that just blindly hate Lestat because even just listening to Louis tell the story, it was clear that ALL of them were abusive and toxic toward each other and that that’s just the nature of vampires.
@@nyeishaclark95 This show is too complex for some people, sorry I said it..🤭

I like the ending. I'm not fan of Claudia, she accent is little off. Armand and Louis don't seem to be match. They are little too soft, for me.
I didn’t like how they killed all those people Especially the twin 😢
Telling us you haven't read the book series without telling us you haven't read the book series.
The first thing you need to realize about Louis is that he's a self serving liar and has already been revealed as such more than once by Daniel in the show . Don't judge Lestat by Louis' whining .
