The item list is the same as before, only this time I also swap TM17 x46 with TM19 x46, enabling me to write 508 bytes of memory instead of just 254.
The scary part is, after the reset, it doesn't even say that "The save file was corrupted!" or something like that. It just acts like it never even happened at all. XD
+A____________________z____________________u____________________r____________________e I find it errie when it says "The game data has been destroyed"
like
how does being destroyed differ from corruption

Corrupting is making it unusable
destroying is removing data

you forgot the part where there's HYPER REALISTIC BLOOD
That's impossible to make
SPOOKY REALISTIC SKELETONS
yeah. adding hyper realistic blood is really hard.
but can lua script will work at gbc?
if yes, then the hyper realistic blood will be added.
Would have been more terrifying if after the battle it said something like "I'll be back some day"
See, the obvious thing to do here is to make Mew appear under the truck.
They did it at AGDQ 2016

I love watching as someone is making a game with a game in a game.
Doing inputs that writes code simply but, thats why item manipulation and weird bike ride
On a computer that has a program that makes the game think that it’s being played on a Game Boy.
@Vincent using the bike only spesific frames load and that can cause the game yo glitch out and load wrong frames when you exit those you were in

Man, that Missingno. Ghost Hyper Beamed the save file right out of existence.
It's actually pretty crazy though, to imagine that you can essentially rewrite the entire game from the assembly level given enough time and patience, all on the cart itself.
He should grab a bootleg and make a flash reprogrammer and either reprogram the entire game in hex or use link cable to transfer a gb file and reprogram the flash chip
That Silph Scope... nice touch.
TheGigaBrain its not going to help you this time
When I was much younger. Like... elementary school younger. Alot of kids on the playground would spread rumors about haunted Pokemon cartridges and stuff. As someone who has heard every variation of Pokemon creepypasta this is spot on. Well done.
Shame a lot of pokemon creepypasta is garbage.
The real smart/cool kids spread things about hidden mons and then used basic glitch powerlevel to spook/amaze people.

Now, the obvious functionality of 8F is to create a battle sequence animation with Pikablu.
How to make it scarier: just before the player blacks out, make a text box say "go to sleep"
Oh my GOD, this is the most insane thing I've ever seen done to a game! This is like, what I was wishing for since I started learning about glitches. It's astounding...
You wrote this entire thing... manually entering each... and every byte
Unless you used a lua script that is some dedication
IT'S OFFICIAL. I AM BUYING A BUNCH OF BLUE CARTRIDGES AND A GB, DOING THIS TO ALL OF THEM, AND SELLING THEM ALL ON EBAY. Then it's time to sit back and feel the love.
And put a very low price, like $1,00 and in the description write something like "please, somebody buy it! I just want to get rid of it! I can't handle anymore!"
you won't do it, no balls
And then delete your Ebay account immediately after selling them all! (You might want to have multiple accounts though)
LuckyK link please? I wanna scare some friends.
Fuck selling them, just give them to some friends who are looking for nostalgia and watch their face as they find themself in an impossible perdiciment. Priceless.
And in a couple weeks time, Ebay will be flooded with Creepypasta pokemon games XD
pacguy64 Good luck finding some, or yet trying to do such a thing: Pokémon Blue cartriges are quite of expensive nowadays, the least expensive one is $15 (in German, I accidentaly got one XD), but mostly you'll find one for $30. So yeah :S
***** I have one (a German one, because when I was 7 my English wasn't so good). And I think If I was really interested I could write this save file to the cartridge (there was a tutorial on how to use the Raspberry GPIO ports to achieve that). A bigger problem is porting what this ASM code does to the German version (I did a quick check by simply loading the savefile with the German rom. It would only result in a faulty dialogue)
EDIT: But If I were to actually finish this I would upload it as an answer to this video :D

I've actually tried this:
drive.google.com/file/d/0B6Z4cgflaLAnWUsxUVdjc0ZWZVE/view?usp=sharing
(yes, it's recorded in HyperCam. No time for Fraps or Camtasia.)
It only ended up with crash and mess. Oh well. :-)
And to that German version, drive.google.com/file/d/0B6Z4cgflaLAnQndvUUdSekVKVnM/view?usp=sharing
I fell like a bloody Nazi. HEILEN. I know it's Heal, but... dayum. I've bought that Gameboy with Pokémon Blue for $19 (450CZK). Even it's fully functional, nobody told me it's IN GERMAN. I'm not even mad, though these name changes. Shiggy? Glumana?! Bisasam?! Those are names like from a Porno-Film with ogres.. I'm playing to this day, it's awesome and I'm glad for it. Yet I started to understand some pharses. Instead of just Die Scheiße Katze or Das Schweinhund.

:D I just wonder how you actually got color. Because on my Gameboy Color everything is in Blue only.
Du musst dein Shiggy heilen xD
I think it's kind of strange, because here "heilen" in the meaning of "to hail" is more or less forbidden. Although it's the exact same word with the exact same meaning in the English language.
EDIT: Ah I see you tested it on a modified German rom. Yeah it kinda pisses me off that I have to search for the English names of the Pokemon. But I think it's better than hearing many people pronouncing the names wrong.
The 19th Fighter I just realized that I sent you the wrong photo XD

Here, I also have that Blue palette. But you can change it by pressing the arrows on that booting Gameboy screen. For example: B and Right gives you negative color!
And also there's that HEILEN. If can I ask you, do you still have your Gameboy with Pokémon? I'm just curious, because when one 8 year boy noticed that I have a Gameboy, he told me that his brother had a Gameboy with Pokémon Red. Bud it's LCD was broken. (How? IT'S NOKIA'S OLDER SISTER!)
Edit: Ironically enough, my favorite Pokémon is Squrt- I mean Shiggy. ALTROUGH IT SOUND LIKE A MEXICAN RAPER. And of course, Water type Pokémon. Dirty enough. :S
So I decided to treat this save file like the April Fools challenge. Here's how I escaped and ultimately beat the game:
1) First, I used my everdrive64 and libgbpak to move this save onto a physical cartridge so I can do this on original hardware as much as possible.
2) Second, I fired up the good ol' Pelican Monster Brain accessory and edited my marowak to have absurd stats and some moves including teleport. I also changed my name to GLITCH (which I realized later seems to prevent crashing after winning against missigno).
3) I then edited my items to include a master ball, a repel, and an escape rope.
4) The repel sadly did not prevent the encounter and the escape rope wasn't working, though I never tried the master ball.
5) Instead, I one hit KO'd the missingno (his health bar took several minutes to deplete) with my marowak which oddly displayed in battle as a charizard.
6) After defeating the ghost, several minutes passed at a glitch-y screen where multiple non-existent pokemon proceeded to level up and learn moves like razor wind. Most of these pokemon had no names or single digit names with numbers like 9.
7) When that finished, I was simply dumped into infinite darkness with barriers on all sides. I was unable to select the pokemon menu, but the rest of my start menu functioned, including saving. Teleport still did not work.
8) With my freshly saved game, I once again popped in the Monster Brain and made a single change. The number of poke'mon in my party had been set to 0, so I set it to 6.
9) Now I had my marowak back and 5 other pokemon I believe were the ones leveling up from before. These included two charizards, a dragonite with glitched hp, a mew with fly and cut, and a ゥL ゥM 4 that changed the music to a glitch-y slowed down pallet town theme. Fly didn't let me escape either.
10) Now I needed gameshark codes, but since I didn't own a phsyical one, it was time to dump the save and use VBA.
11) First I experimented with Walk through walls, but no matter which direction I went in, I would eventually crash.
12) Finally, after tracking down a working "fly/teleport works anywhere" code (the one on glitch city labs did NOT work) I was able to teleport away.
13) I forgot to check which town I teleported to, but it appeared as a glitch city. To get to a non-glitch city, I simply used mew to fly away.
14) Now I had officially escaped and had a full team of pokemon. After moving this all back to the physical cartridge, I then flew to the pokemon league and promptly became the champion. Take that, ghost.
Blessed comment
Wonder what could've been done if the save self-destructed when the battle ended instead of when losing. Then no matter if you won, lost or ran away, the save would've self-destructed anyway.
@@3lH4ck3rC0mf0r7 Well, from what the OP said, it could be that the empty name caused it? So changing it averted the crash.
@@Mernom I assumed the 'crash' after winning against MissingNo wasn't the intended ACE save self-destruction routine doing its thing, but an actual game crash
This actually would make for an interesting precutscene (without the save game deleting part, just as a scene in a new game, walk around as Marowak, and it's Rockets disguised as Missingno/Ghost testing the power of hyper beam (which ironically is also a product from Game Corner) and perhaps something to do with Marowak protecting the cubone...
Then you wake up as Red, in your bed in a cold sweat.
I find something funny about how once the game resets, the happy little player just goes into his settings, changes some things around, and then starts again. It's like it's just something you have to go through whenever you delete a game or start a fresh run of the game.
That would be an interesting way to keep save files from being accidently deleted actually, especially if you put it in a game that's more metanarriative than Pokémon goes
Maybe this was how Hypno's lullaby, strangled red, buried alive, and all those other old creepypastas were made! Some person in the past knew about 8F before we all did here in the future and actually made those creepy pastas happen to real people. 8F was the mastermind all these years!

This is why I need to learn Assembly
Assembly (at least x86) is not THAT complex, once you know what the basic instructions do, e.g
mov eax, 5 = move 5 to register eax
and eax, ebx = AND logic gate on eax and ebx
inc eax = increment eax by 1
although i have no clue what architecture the GBA uses
It's 8 or 16-bit
GB uses z80 assembly, BUT some opcodes (halt for example) are custom.

Aleph Null Using ACE to alter the code to that extent is still hacking.

WasabiKitKat Hmm... I guess. Glitching it to the point that you can hack it?

This is just a rom on an emulator...
***** You can flash the save to the cartridge.
The 19th Fighter No, you can't since this is done with the Memory Editor in VBA, meaning it's not an actual save file.
***** Huh this Savefile works on a vanilla Rom, no Memory Editing needed (I assume you meant RAM editing).
You just need to flash the Savefile to the Cartridge.

You should have had Professor Oak say when trying to use the Silph Scope "Oak: (Name)! There's no hope for you now."
Also, would it be possible to draw a horrifying image on the Gameboy screen and have it softlock on it after the player faints?
Probably the easiest part if you know basic GB programming, just take a phot with Game Boy Camera to Freddy Fazbear´s R34 and then paste the image, then just make the system intentionally crash by making it do something like divide by 0.
It´s imposible to do this by exclusively using the only elements in the actual game, throught.
Why Freddy Fazbear R34? Why not Undertale R34?
or just make a tilemap and use an assembly loop to copy it to VRAM
Right when I saw the word Creepypasta I turned on my light
soo all the thing you kept doing with 8F was to create text?
Yes, that and tossing the tm34s to 'write' assembly code into the game, also using 8F in the pokemon tower glitches it after the save opens again

"POKEMON TOWER GLITCH" by GarytheRaticate (Germany) on July 9, 2014
Some people ask me why I stopped playing Pokemon. I always say I had grown up and... but I never tell them the real reason. And now I will tell you my secret.
I had recently bought a Pokemon Blue cartridge on Ebay. Back then, I was basically a Pokemon nerd. I watched the anime, I played the games, I traded the cards, It was all fun. I decided to buy a used Pokemon blue cartridge for myself to give back my nostalgia. But instead this happened. That was my first mistake
The cart arrived sight unseen. But here's the creepy part. The box only said "Matt." No last name or even address for the matter. I shrugged it off as a mistake. But I was soon met with the actual cartridge itself.
It had Blastoise with his eyes scratched out. I was shocked. So I played it into my Game Boy Pocket from when I was young, and started playing. That was my second mistake.
It was normal. All the stats were normal, no creepy save There were 8 badges, 27 caught Pokemon, and a time of 25:50. Pretty normal, right? But here's the thing. I saw that the save had a blank name. I thought of the extra names, but those too weren't blank. So I started the save file. That was my third mistake.
To my shock, I was spawned into a void of glitched tiles. There were many sprites all over the place, I saw Red's sprite, and letters, numbers, tiles galore. The action reminded me of Glitch City. I was soon taken aback by some text that appeared when I started. And yes, I do have the picture.
The text read:
"DO NOT BE AFRAID. IT WONT HELP YOU AT ALL."
The text was printed word for word painfully slowly. Now I was able to move. I ended up out of the glitchy mess and into some sort of graveyard. It reminded me of the Pokemon Tower. As I moved forward, the path seemed to turn to the right.
But I could go past. I was always pushed down. Eventually I was able to go past the invisible forcefield and go right. And that was my fourth and final mistake. That's when more dialog appeared.
"THERE IS NO ESCAPE. SAY BYE TO YOUR SAVE FILE."
Then I was entered into a battle. It all reminded me of Marowak's spirit in the Pokemon Tower. I saw that the Pokemon I found was Missingno. It was also a glitch I encountered. But this Missingno wasn't the usual glitch sprite. It was the ghost sprite that you can encounter in the Pokemon Tower without the Silph Scope. And my character sprite was... Gary??
He called out a glitch Pokemon that resembled a Marowak. It had no name like the save file and it was level 1. It had 1 hp, like the Shedinja of Gen 3. It had only one move. "Harden," and it was at 19/30 pp. I looked at my party and the Marowak was all I had. Then I checked my bag. There was only the Silph Scope. This is impossible, how could I encounter the ghosts even if I had the Silph Scope in my inventory.
Just as I expected, Professor Oak wouldn't let me use the Silph Scope. It was the only item in my bag. Then, as I tried to use Harden, the Missingno used Hyper Beam. As I expected, the Marowak was dead in 1 hit. It had only 1 hp after all. I ended up blacking out. Marowak was the only Pokemon in my team. Then, the game reset. The save file was gone. I stopped playing Pokemon after that day.
And I learned this lesson: "Never trust anything sold on Ebay. You might get a similar experience to mine."
Goodbye.
-Gary
Epilogue: I saw a video on CZcams about somebody using ACE to make their save file exactly like the one in my cartridge.

Oh, what code is that?
I mean, it's obviously not the konami code.
I actually type this exact sequence in when I’m catching a Pokémon with a pokeball. Before the Pokémon gets into the pokeball that is.
I can't imagine how good this would be to do in a real cartridge and then sell it with the modified save file... The new owner would go nuts!
Ok i heard how 8f can modify the game and stuff but change whole map layouts and sequences?????? Holy shit impressive stuff
This is wonderful, and I support it wholeheartedly. Did you end up selling the cart on eBay to screw with people?

I wonder if it could be possible to patch color into the game by 8F however I think you'll run out of memory.
+The 19th Fighter
Well, you could edit the shading pallets and get some degree of color out of it, if you don't mind ending up with basically a customized version of what Red and Blue use on color systems.
+VestedUTuber
Couldn't you just force the game to use the super game boy pallet?
Joel Graber
Super Game Boy pallets are loaded onto the system itself, not the cartridge.
+VestedUTuber
But Pokémon r&b were created after the super game boy, so those pallets have to be stored on the rom somewhere.
Joel Graber
I'm pretty sure R&B don't have any color information whatsoever stored.
When I inserted the original cartridge inside a Super GameBoy no special colors were used.
The unsuspecting customer can't even tell their friends about it and be believed because it wipes the save file. Nice. They'll forever think they were seeing things.
I saw another CZcamsr which claimed this was previously hidden in the game by developers... it’s evident he created that instead.
He very likely copied the steps from your video and pretended he had discovered something, the steps were very similar. I’m disappointed, thanks for bringing out the truth.
Sadly none of his videos are online anymore, so I can’t show you all.
Diodelmetal per caso?
How do you load 4-digit hex (i.e a RAM address) as HL? I'm new to GBz80 asm. I want to write a script that clears both Snorlaxes (Event Flags D7D8 and D7D9).
This is absolutely brilliant
Should have used something like slash, a real scary move.
You know people can beat that thing with this one save editor. But at least I wouldn't.
You are a godking and I wish to acquire your knowledge and creativity. This is amazing.
This might be old, but i'm questioning, is it there a guide to make or modify text like you did in 2:14 using the 8F item?
