Mina is a very talented writer and is very smart and knows football. But she’s the Seahawks beat reporter and doesn’t cover the Commanders regularly or as in depth. So her knowledge of our team won’t be nearly as much as the Seahawks.

You can't hire someone that doesn't want to be here. Ben Johnson has started in no uncertain terms that he did not want to be with any of the teams he interviewed with. I get that he's the flashy young upstart, but this fanbase needs to cut bait. You can't force someone to be here. That has never worked out for anyone either in a relationship or in a business setting.
In the end say Johnson does go on to be a HC next year for whoever and he falls flat. hiring DQ over Ben Johnson might end up like dodging a bullet.

People attacking Mina don't realize that it's the general national media take. I don't live in the DMV and most of the sports news I do take in from my local news and even talking heads on TV is most don't know much about the relationship between Quinn and Peters. National news thinks Quinn is on a short leash because they don't believe Quinn was the first or even second choice (based on opinion). The takes are obviously wrong in their own right, but contextually I don't think Mina actually believes it, she only said she could see of the first year coaches Quinn could be on a hot seat, which yeah, every first year coach has expectations and a leash gets short when there aren't more wins than previous years. If Washington only nets 4 wins, then it's going to be a conversation as to what Quinn has/doesn't have, and if he was the right guy, and that's going to come from fans, not media.

Mina lost a lot of respect on that take. Her rant on DQ on being 1 and done was literally the worst. It’s like she just succumbed to the easy National media narrative. So Lazy and flat out 100% out of character for Harris, and the ownership group. DQ track record isn’t even one to start off in disaster as well. Like it was a take STRAIGHT outta nowhere. SMH gonna keep that on the Receipts archive 🤦♂️
Man won a SB as a DC, went to SB as a HC, and then had a top 5 defense with most takeaways as a DC again. Nina lost us for that craziness. From top to bottom we getting the best of the best.
