It's a very wholesome and cozy world, especially if you spend a lot of time in it and get to know the townies.
I have Island living since it came out but didn't know like half the things. All the packs have soooo much depth that is hidden. I usually watch LPs when a pack comes out but they don't go deep in the gameplay and it's a shame. These packs are better then we think so people should stop complaining and go deeper
My idea was to use the crashed plane from strangerville and I kind of made the entire map into a "lost" (tv series). Where a group of ppl crash landed on the island and now have to survive and eventually cohabitation. That kind of idea where every lot is off the grid and its more of a "sims castaways" feel. I've had a lot of fun with the story lines and "tribes".. i mean families that have come to power over generations since the crash.
For a chaotic home you could set it to the haunted house lot type (if you have paranormal stuff pack), island spirits lot trait, volcano lot trait, and off the grid lot trait.
I like to form a group of a chief & followers. They go to explore the jungle from jungle adventure & wear face paint. At the end of their journey, they get tribal markings.
I love that you made this! This is one of my must have packs and it confuses me when people say this pack brings nothing to the game...they're just not paying attention to the unique features
Honestly since I found you I have soo many ideas for a gameplay now and I really appreciate you for giving us these ideas! You are saving my game literally!!
I like using the gig work feature! Especially for sims who have a part time job or are primarily care takers. If you live on the island and do certain ones like catching frogs you actually don't have to "leave" your lot so you can still control other sims or return to check on babies in between actions.

I'm a new Sims player. I didn't know about the Volcanic Activity trait in Sulani. The first time I experienced an in-game earthquake I literally screamed! I panicked so much I thought my computer was broken! 🤭😁

Summoning volcano bombs is well... the bomb. It's amazing for collector Sims and goes hand in hand with being the child of Father Winter as well, hoarding in extra points for finding a gem or element as a whimp wish.

I've been having fun with rentals in Sulani lately! I try to only send sims there if they rent a house for a few days in order to make it feel special. Using holidays is fun because it's a great place to send them for "summer vacation!"
I've been playing island living again recently whilst waiting for the new country living to be released! It's the closest I can get to a holiday since corona hit 😔
I'm curious what it would be like to incorporate the Sulani spirits you can spawn w/ the lot trait and a Haunted House from Paranormal stuff... Wonder if they could work together well or if they just don't mesh...
I'd prefer to be like Steve Irwin, famous for all the right reasons in the Conservationist Frontier. :) I may try a Mermaid Marine Biologist with the Island Spirits lot trait and see what mischief I can cause, upon the humans of course. xD
i never thought island living would be a pack with so much potential for economy destroying exploits. may have to play around with the pack and see just how borked i can make my sims bank account
Hi Petey, thanks after watching 27 Island living gameplays I decided to have another go at Island living. I got the child of the Island trait but I only get spirits, HOW do I get them to take ghost form so I can add them to household.
My ladder isn't working overwater. My sim could not use it. I am using a mod that allows to add a pool on a beach lot, I wonder if that's the messing up with the ladder function
0:50 but how do you embrace Sulani culture? I've been cleaning up the island, making and eating the food, throwing kava parties and making kava constantly, and snorkeling and exploring the cave. the elements are never pleased. I can't find any info on it anywhere for some reason it's driving me insane, everything just says "partake in island activities" BUT I HAVEE BEENNN HELPP
My Child of the Island Sim got a decent result on her Island Elemental evaluation once, and it happened right after she'd been to one of the island festivals. So maybe attending the festivals and events that occasionally pop up in Sulani will help your Sims get the Elementals' approval
Honestly wish that Maxis wasn't worrying about refreshing optional packs. They should focus on refreshing the base game. Let's be real, if the gameplay were more in-depth and interesting, all of the packs would become much better by extension.

Living like a Sulani Local literally killed my Sim. He had the Child of the Islands trait so I was trying to honor the culture and attend festivals and the like. This was great until he got this random playful moodlet from it that wouldn't go away. I tried everything. I bought reward store potions and all that and eventually, the playful moodlet was back. It lasted for three days. and he was constantly getting hysterical. Even calming down in the mirror didn't help. Eventually, he became hysterical when he aged his child into a toddler and just died right in front of her.
@@casualviewer2000 the truly amazing thing is that this Sim's stepfather died due to hysteria too because he was in that bath when he completed his New Year's resolution. He got out of the tub and died on the bathroom floor.
@@Lalathegam3er nope. The moodlet clearly said playful from honoring island traditions. I've never put emphasis on island culture before so I've never seen it and none of the simmers I watch ever showcased it so I guess it's really rare.
I'm, almost certain that if you're playing another household and you visit and buy from a retail store then the object will appear in either the sim's or the household inventory.
@@PeteyPlaysIt I'll have to give it go....another creator did a store review and that was one of the big things they found wrong with sims 4 retail compared to sims 2 retail. I have a Sim in my legacy that is destined to be the owner of a Halloween theme shop so I'll test it then.
It's like Rockstar!!!!!!!!!! If you want to play Sims4 offline you have to log in somewhere online first and just keep it open!!!!! It's a dumbass system, but once you can't log in once you don't have access anymore!

You can add the spirits to your household the same way you add ghosts :)

The aspirations need to be more fleshed out so that you’re shown more of these things by playing. Island living seems such a terrible pack otherwise.
