@@gillian4683 she didn’t sample it as this would mean that she would have to pay royalties (which wouldn’t go to Taylor because New Year’s Day is on reputation) so she interpolated it, meaning that she copied the melody and re-recorded it instead of sampling which is a smart workaround so she’s not supporting those who bought Taylor’s masters

@@salvatore2004 since New Year's Day is my favorite song on Reputation, I consider it as my opening for that album even though it's the closing song of Reputation. I don't re-order Taylor's album but I do kind of doing it with her songs on a certain album. I don't bias though, every song that she has is loved by me.
