Tropical North Queensland is one of the most exciting and diverse regions to visit in Australia.
The Atherton Tablelands sits at the very heart of it with its breathtaking waterfalls, scenic vistas, sparkling lakes, and heritage-listed rainforests.
Situated about 3 hours north from where we live, the area is locally known as "the Tablelands". It is a fertile volcanic plateau that is part of the Great Dividing Range in the State of Queensland.
This video was filmed between the 3rd and 6th July 2020 during our Australian tropical "winter".

Such a magical place. Love it! Was in Brisbane over the holidays...on my way to New Zealand. The beaches look amazing. Very nice video. What program do you use that has the little car on the map? Hello I am actually getting an offer to work in Atherton tablelands as a nurse- I am looking up about this places and very limited resources.. may I ask if it is a great city to live in and opinions on The transportation and expenses …thank you so much
Thank you so much for watching🙂. The Atherton Tablelands is more a region than a city. There are a few towns around but mostly it is a rural area where agriculture and tourism are the main economic drivers. The two main towns with health services such as hospitals and major medical centres are going to be either Mareeba and Atherton. The city of Atherton would be a better choice as it is a more central location on the Tablelands and the rest of the region. I hope this helps.
