I have the same car, same colour Lemans blue, side pipe 390 hp 427 BB. It puts a smile on every time I take it for a spin.

We mistakenly think that the exciting thing about a vehicle is speed, when the feeling of power, sound, vibration, make these cars something unique

Sorry but I've had my L-71 427/435 since 1970. Bought it with a little over 3,000 miles. Replaced the valve springs with TRW within the first three days. The car has been a gem to own and drive. I feel very lucky to have had all this fun for so long and it still continues. Modifying the car to make it better in my own opinion was a great move. Borgeson power steering was a really big improvement. Recently switched to GM HEI ignition and distributor and got rid of the MagPulse Transistorized ignition which also made a huge difference in performance. The engine in my car has never been out and considering the speedo shows over 175,000 miles now and it still runs like a champ, I can't complain. The car in this video doesn't seem like a very good performer. My Holley 2300 setup absolutely roars when I step on the gas and going from 70 to 90 takes a split second. The instant response can't be beat. If this guy enjoyed the car in the video, he'd go absolutely bonkers in my car. I've made modifications along the way including seats, 13" flat, racing steering wheel, wheels, tires, radio etc. that have simply made the car more fun to drive but have reduced the "originality" value somewhat! The car is currently in the shop for a safety check and tune-up and a conversion to the 1968 four red tail lights. I went to an LED License Plate Frame which gives off a much brighter back-up light and the four matching red tail lights, to me, looks better than the factory tail light setup. The radio is currently a combo unit that does just about everything including a 7" screen for GPS that pops out and up. It has bluetooth, am, fm, dvd, gps, mp4 and a few other features which all work great. In my opinion, the 1969 Corvette big block tri-power is still the best car ever for sheer fun. It doesn't handle like modern cars of course but when we talk about FUN, it's at the top of the list. When you remove the T-tops and pull out the rear window on a nice hot day, there just isn't anything better.

Nice Vette . The 60's and 70's was a funky time for interiors though. I'm not crazy about the blue on blue in blue. I would have preferred a blue on blue in black.
