I see a lot of folks noticed the "Impressionist" version of the fake match head. If concerned about that or particularly anal retentive - like me - with a little effort you can carefully cut off one side of a match head and glue it to the tail end of a matchstick. Then cut away three of the four sides of the match head, leaving the side on the surface opposite that of the glued bit. In fact, with a bit more thinking, you could come up with a way to hand out the match and pin when done, leaving the audience none the wiser. This is a great little effect. A commercial pocket magic effect with various presentations, but I think originally sold in the 1930's as, "The Matador," is based on virtually the same quicker-than-the-eye technique used here. It is now sometimes seen on eBay. Bravo!

What is cool is that he doesnt use cuts in is filmed illusions so they are real but only from one angle. P.S. not saying you are wrong for not liking them, but here is a counter argument never the less.
It was smart made and well done, but I could see something was wrong with the red side end of the match, be a little more careful next time, good decoration is crucial in magic ;)
I was a bit confused what you were playing at at first, when you rotated the match. I guess the point is that we focus on what you're talking about, not the rest of the picture.
The pin went through the match. If you watch the whole video you'll know that. The illusion wasn't anything to do with whether or not it went through, the illusion part was that it was coloured red and wasn't actually the match end.
I love that you actually show how the tricks are done, and not just leave people wondering.

the needle did not go through the match at a 90 degree angle, it was off by a few degrees, and i think that ruined the illusion for some.
