Hi Stefan. Welcome back to Nightwish. I think you now understand why I kept telling you to check out their live performances. I can safely say that you can pick any of the songs they did at Wacken 2013, because they're all great ('Ghost Love Score' being one of the highlights) and they'll continue to surprise you. Nightwish hardly ever goes where you expect them to go, which makes their music even better. Apart from Wacken 2013, there are other great shows which are worth checking out. You'll find that the production of most of their official live videos and dvd's is really good.

@@breakdownlounge9541 Wacken 2013 is considered a pivotal standard setting event , EVERY song sets a new standard , with NW LIVE is always best especially with Floor Jansen their current & "final" vocalist, Ghost Love Score is a must , then StoryTime, EverDream, Ghost River & Song Of Myself, there will be a point at which you have heard /seen enough from this amazing Wacken 2013 concert along with some heavier songs from other venues that you will conclude that this is the best band in the WORLD !

Any song from the wacken 2013 is gold ......probably one of the best concerts ever recorded .....Floor is an absolute Force of Nature at this show , one of the greatest vocal performances ever ........ Her and the Band are as good as ever , saw them in May of last year , one of the best shows ive ever seen.

Using sports slang, they are mostly on fire when performing live. But in Wacken 2013 they were in the zone the whole show. In a state of grace, however you want to call it.The terribly troubled start of the tour added to the glorious end for sure. Great reaction, can't wait for GLS and other classics.

You will find that almost every Nightwish song will give you unexpected twists and turns. Nightwish is one of the best live band experiences on the planet. The Wacken (Vah-ken) 2013 Nightwish shows is one of the legendary live shows in rock history. IMHO

Wacken 2013 is the benchmark for live shows. No one song's even good. They are all awesome. Yeah, Nightwish is something Unique and extraordinary.
You mentioned Pink Floyd, they covered high hopes many years ago, you might like it, we all do 😁
Live is the best way to listen and watch Nightwish. You can see how much they enjoy being together on stage, and there is not a single ego to be found. Floor has even been Marko's backing vocals and loved every minute if the smile on her face is anything to go by. They are just on a whole other level as you will see as your journey continues. You've got over 20 years worth to discover!

Welcome to Nightwish and the 3 frontwoman Floor Jansen ( 1. Tarja Turunen more operatic, 2. Anette Olzen more poppy). Floor Jansen is one of the most versatile singer with a very high range. Very good response. The Nightwish army is yet to come.

Floor her name is derived from the Roman Goddess of Spring, Flora.
Floor Jansen is called the Valkyrie Goddess of Metal and Empathy.
Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 4 octaves (Eb2 to F5).
She can sing from classical to belting and raspy vocals like screaming and death growls. And she's also a voice coach and teacher to boot. Plus, huge vocal nerd 😉.
Floor Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg with classmates Jacqueline Govaert and Danny Vera, where she graduated in 2003. She studied musical theatre and a year of opera. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016.
From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon (Second singer of Nightwish after Tarja) as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour (And she had to learn the set list in 48h). On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. Nightwish's second studio album with Jansen as front singer, Human. :II: Nature., was released in April 2020.

Our Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen (founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish)
Tuomas the keyboardist writes about 95% of Nightwish songs, music and lyrics. He also composes the music for the backing track they use. It is recorded in London with musicians from The London Philharmonics. Pip Williams helps with the orchestration. There are two London based choirs too on the backing track, the other one is a children's choir. And of course with a synth you can do a lot.
This was recorded at the 2013 Wacken (pronounced Vahken) Open Air festival in Germany in front of an audience of 82,000 people. The fiery bull head is the symbol of the festival.
This song is Like a Coffee with Red Bull .... On Steroids 🤘❤🔥🤘.
The “scream” at the end is called a glissando, going from low to high and back, for classical trained singers this is an exercise to warm up the vocal cords, so Floor will do this probably every day before breakfast

Nice reaction! Well observed and concise points. It’s inevitable listening to a song for the first time that you might pause and miss the start of a guitar solo as you did here. If you go back 10 seconds every time you pause it helps the continuity and gives a better viewing experience.

Yeah….you’ll find as you continue through their songs that they are VERY versatile, with no two songs really sounding alike. They incorporate all sorts of different influences and styles into their music. As others have said, anything from this Wacken 2013 show is brilliant…as is anything from the Wembley 2015, Tampere 2015, Buenos Aires 2018, Virtual World (Islander’s Arms) 2021, Hellfest 2022 and Deichbrand 2022 shows. There’s plenty to enjoy!

Great reaction. New Nightwish Army subscriber here. Another really banging song and performance by the entire band and our 6'1" (barefoot) Valkyrie goddess is incredible. Nightwish is one of the rare bands whose live performances are even better than their studio productions. I'm glad to see you continue to follow our warrior princess, Martine's recommendations. Wacken 2013 is a concert that contains one high after another. It was one of those nights when everything turned out absolutely perfect. But all their live shows are awesome. I have seen them several times and every time I'm high wired for days, the joy, the fun they have performing and the energy is off the charts. Pick any song, you'll like it.🤘🏽

Nightwish is amazing. Found them a year ago on CZcams reactions like this one, and fell in love. Such a range of songs and styles, and Floor can sing just about anything, but you also have Tarja and Annette as previous lead singers. I wholeheartedly suggest more Nightwish. Try Storytime next. I subscribed to see what else you do.
I'll add another band though also. The other great love I found in YT reactions is Lovebites. Amazes me, because I wouldn't have called myself a fan of metal, but then my two favorite bands are Nightwish and Lovebites. Saw one live and now planning on the other. The talent in Lovebites is off the charts. Unbelievable. What to react to sort of depends what you are looking for, but it is all amazing. Holy War, live from Zepp, or Set the World on Fire, for some amazing belts and guitar work. Thunder Vengeance is a show opener, so lots of energy (might actually be my favorite, amazingly, but it is all great, as with Nightwish). Swan Song with the Chopin intro for Miyako going into beast mode on the piano. Frozen Serenade for some acoustic guitar. Miho on bass and Haruna on drums are stellar through all. I highly recommend trying at least one.

thanks for this honest and beautiful reaction all the songs from wacken 2013 are written for the 2 other singers but the dutch floor jansen live is better than any studio version all the 15 songs of wacken are different and very good sorry for my english greatings from the netherlands
This is symphonic metal. Most of Nightwish songs have multiple different sections and breakdowns that keep you on your toes. Tuomas (keyboard) writes 98% of their music and lyrics and is in my opinion a musical Genius. He has even earned himself the nickname Metal Mozart.

You can't go wrong with any song at this concert. My first introduction to Nightwish and I was lucky enoug0h to hear Floor Jansen as their lead singer. Her flexibility, empathy and story telling is peerless. She is singing a complete set of songs written for previous two singers, Tarja(operatic) and Anette(pop), and improves every one. Only with band ten months here and learned complete setlist in 48 hours mid tour to replace previous singer and flying from the Netherlands to the USA. Most of the 82,000 crowd had never heard Floor sing with Nightwish and she had conquered virtually all of them after the first song, Dark Chest of Wonders. The studio version of Wish I Had An Angel, that y0ou heard, featured the first singer Tarja and is the second song at this concert.

"Ghost Love Score" will blow your mind. While the Wacken, Germany open air concert is epic, their other performances (live) at Wembley and Buenos Aires, plus others that are available (without copyright strikes) are fantastic as well. Love this band ! Keep them coming. I traveled half way across the US to see them in May. Was not disappointed it was the best concert I've seen even with Tuomas being under the weather and Floor just recovering. Would definitely see them again.

Basically any song from Wacken 2013 is worth watching/reacting. In addition to that, I think the Poet and the Pendulum from Wembley 2015 and The Greatest Show on Earth from Tampere 2015 are mandatory. For me, the song that's most underappreciated is the Ghost River from Wacken 2013.

Storytime from this concert is my next suggestion, even though every song at this concert event is epic. Nightwish is definitely a live experience. Which is not a problem because they have about a hundred different killer Official live videos of different songs out on CZcams recorded from a performance from somewhere in the world.

When you want to go further on the path of our 1.83m tall Dutch Valkyrie Queen Floor Jansen besides Nightwish, here is some background information on the best and most versitale female singer of our time. Besides managing a band on her own she also did a lot of vocal coaching and as she is a perfectionist, she wants to do everything at 100%+. Eventually she had to pay the price and got a burnout. She had just recovered when end of september 2012 the call came from Nightwish to fill in for the remainder of the North American Tour at first as their second singer Annette got ill. Floor joined Nightwish after this iconic Wacken concert in 2013 as permanent member of the band. It's not common for reaction channels to begin with Romanticide and 'Wish I had an angel', but that proves that you are authentic and you didn't dive in just for the likes and subscribes. Please stick to the live performances. Nightwish is one of the few bands that has great album recordings but their live stuff....out of this world. About the current singer Floor Jansen (the last 10 years)...I know it's way too early for you to say but you just witnessed the female G.O.A.T. head voice, chest voice, growling, belting, operatic style, rock style, pop, death metal, Disney...you name it. She also sings in seven different languages and she is a vocal coach. As for the amazing songwriting I am sure you are going to appreciate the 'metal Mozart'

I think it's also in the Progrock corner. I like Progrock, like Yes, ELO, and since 2019 when I discovered Nightwish, they are one of my top favorites, with Floor as the perfectioning of this band, with great musicians, Tuomas Holopain, keyboard and music Writer is the genius of this band, it's top-level of music. Specially their latest album, in my opinion we see not enough of this album on this channel.
Human and Nature, has al of it,
Metal, rough, ballad, Folkisch, Keltic, and a amazing production from this album.
The double album is peace of art.
The 2nd one is complete instrumental. The second from a trilogy I think.
The previous album, the first of this trilogy, Endless forms most beautiful is the first, and this year maybe the 3rd album of this trilogy.

You're doing Pink Floyd. So check out the older High Hopes cover (Marko only) by Nightwish. Great as well!
Someone else recently discovered this track and I thought it was amazing. I like it more than the Flyod version. His voice is so powerful (Marko). I may do a breakdown of it with a friend in the future.
Basically, anything from Wacken 2013 is a good bet, as the sound engineers that worked on that one are absolutely world class, so you can really hear everything. Wembley 2015 is almost as good, and instruments are very clear there as well. Much like Kiss, Nightwish are at their best live. They feed off the audience, like any true artist does. I also feel like their recorded stuff, while very good, is a little too over-produced for my taste. The bass is often too low in the mix, and the guitars too clean. They sound much better in a live setting, where it's essentially just them and their amps.

Please listen to GHOST LOVE SCORE. Her voice will truly blow your mind.
You'll get a lot of reccomendations, most will tell you to stick with Wacken 2013 for now, which is a good idea, there are so many strong tracks from that show each completely different from the last, it's an outstanding introduction to the band as a whole, and Floor as a vocalist. (She had been with the band about 10 months at that point, it was the first time most of the 80K people in that crowd had heard her sing.
Ghost Love Score is where most people start. You should go there next. The Valkarie Goddess of Symphonic Metal demands it.
