- I get a lot of questions asking me if the Craftsman tractor scoop will fit (fill in the blank) model of tractor.
While I don't know for sure, I've made this video to show how it bolts to both the GT line and LT line of Craftsman mowers.
My guess is that it will work on many makes and models with minor adjustments. - Jak na to + styl
Eric, great videos. Because of your videos I purchased an Agri-Fab model originally designed for a Huskee for $250 directly from Agri-Fab as an overstock. I have put it together and am manufacturing brackets to mount it to my John Deere. Keep up the good work and good luck with your farm.
I like the way that machine looks with the scoop and chains. I have a 1969 John Deere 112 that does all my heavy farm work and a husqvarna yth 150 that I use to haul hay and snow blow in the winter. It’s pretty neat how much work they can do. That video you did awhile back about the difference between a garden tractor, lawn tractor and lawn mower I’ve watched that over and over. I’ve started working on building my walk behind tractor I’ve got video I’m gonna put up when I’m done building.
Cool! Another small farmer using these GT's and LT's for work.
I'll be sure to check you channel from time to time to see what your up to.
Thanks for the video. These scoops are surprisingly useful, we did a lot of work with ours before we got our current tractor. With the bracket you pictured, and with spacers/washers, we were able to adapt it to a Simplicity Prestige tractor very easily.
Thanks for the info!
Enjoy watching your videos, obviously you know your small tractors. I've got a 2018 craftsman pro series garden tractor, and I've been searching for the bucket attachment for some time now, without any luck. Can't even purchase a new one, I guess due to Sears going through their troubles, etc. Just wondering where do you find all of the wonderful stuff that you have?
Funny question, but is there anyway that you can measure that bracket. I bought that same setup but it was missing the bracket that connects to the mower. It's referred to as the right and left a long plate in the manual.
I have a Husqvarna scoop on my Craftsman GT5000, only difference was that 3rd mounting hole, didn't have to drill the hole for it, but decided to for extra strength.
Can you show me how that seat you have mounts to machine? I love that idea
I don't have this anymore, sorry I can't help
cool
I got two 4 speeds and a hydro I really like the GT line the older ones. The new ones are a bit to MTD for my taste. But anywho now as for scooping do you think the 4 speed would be better then the hydro? Both have more or less the same mill(engine) and tires and are about the same size (hydro a bit taller)I think the hydro would do better. What do you think?
I've run this scoop on both hydros and manuals, and without a doubt the hydro will work better. The reason is this.
The scoop really requires both hands to operate, and when you add shifting from forward to reverse and back over and over again its a bit of a pain. with the hydro its foot controls or lever control and its much easier to master.
Oh cool and thanks. You know a lot of people look down on the GT 5000 & 6000 line but back in the day(pre MTD) it took a 6500+ buck Deere to be its equal
Well I bought the tractor scoop I was asking you about but it didn't come with any mounting brackets. I was going to pass it up but they dropped the price to 70 dollars. So now I'm on the hunt to buy some or try to fine a blue print to make some.
Sometimes fabricating to make stuff work is half the fun. Good luck with it
Anyone know where I can still get one of these? It seems like it is discontinued. Also Husqvarna has one and I would imagine its the same but does anyone know? Is that still available and where to get?
The one Husqvarna sells is the same unit. It will work on all older Craftsman units as well. To make it work on other makes and models may require a little work. There is also the great Johnny bucker Jr.
Hi Eric.. how much weight do you think the bucket can hold?
Its right at 250lbs.
I'm going to look at a used scoop today. Is there anything in particular I should look at?
A lot of these will need to be readjusted to make sure they work well. I think the manual is online, but if it isn't let me know and I'll see if I can scan it for you.
Also, verify that the mounts come with it. There should be two sets. One that fits GT's, and the other for LT's and riding mowers. It would be impossible to mount it up without them, and a lot of times they end up in the trash when the mower they were on get's scrapped.
Thank you for the reply I will look for both sets of brackets I think they only have one for the gt. I'm going to mount it on a craftsman mts 5500. They are wanting 150 for it. It's the first one I've seen in my area so I can't pass it up.
Can you post a link to purchase one of these?
Sure.

Lowe's! Wow I've never seen them at ours. Btw.. watch your vids all the time since I stumbled from curiosity checking out your CB post. Good stuff..👍
Do you know which bracket would I need for a Scotts 1642h by John Deere?
I am sorry but I don't. You might have to contact a local John Deere dealer for that info
@@FarpointFarms no problem, thanks.
Too much hand power involved to raise/lower... hydraulic is the way to go..no cheap thin flimsy stamp china scrap
