    In this video I am upgrading all components of Orbea Vibe H30 bike to make the lightest possible alloy commuter bike on the market. The starting weight was 15.5kg, but can you guess the final weight?!

    I asked Oleg to modify my Orbea Vibe H30 the same way, & am very pleased indeed with the results, with an estimated 3.6kg off the final weight & an incredibly responsive and fast E-bike. He spends time discussing your requirements and the result very much feels like your own personalised bike. I’m lucky as also in London so he could do the sourcing and work himself (he is easily accessible from the N Circular or M25), but if you’re not then he’ll give you customised replacement parts advice by phone for a flat fee. Either way, very highly recommended and definitely worthwhile. Thanks Oleg!

      Curious if you ever considered going back to 700c with a 38mm gravel tire to get more roll over the 650c wheels? There are some nice tires with the smooth centreline and gravel edging ideal for London streets that won’t be so much of a compromise.

    Absolutely great video, many thanks for it! I bought the Vibe recently (last month), the H30EQ, and I'm very happy with it. I took already some inspiration from you video, but don't necessarily have the skills to change everything the way you did. First thing was just to replace the tires with gravelkind (700x38c) + tubolito, and this saved me already ~1.4kg on the bike... next step will certainly be the cassette and the whole transmission. A bit more work in perspective. Anyway, thanks again for this video, it's inspiring.

    • @TwistedWheels
      @TwistedWheels  Před 9 měsíci

      Thanks, I’m glad you found it useful. The wheels and tyres is where the most weight is saved. Drivetrain will not help you save much weight, so if you are happy with how it works, I’d probably leave it. But it’s of course up to you. Good luck!

    • @user-jh3rn5nz4x
      @user-jh3rn5nz4x Před 9 měsíci

      The ratio work+price/weight saving is indeed not very good for the drivetrain. Remains the fun factor...

    May not be the lightest but i would have gone for a Gates belt drive or similar, with a shimano internal 8 or 9 speed mechanism and an electric hub up front.
    Effectively giving you a 2 wheel drive system, which is fun.
    I do like those wheels and the very light calipers etc.
    XTR - 4 pot is probably overkill on my commuter and heavier ... dam!

Oleg can you advice me about the tyre (700/622) that i could use -- changing the back wheel is out of my abilities since it means moving the ebikemotion hub from the stock wheel to a new one, and on top you need a strong wheel. I can certainly change the cranck set and front gear, so could you posst the one you used.

    We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. czcams.com/users/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!

    Will the SRAM red dub crank arm & garbaruk 40t chainring be compatible with my existing Shimano Deore groupset which came with the bike?

    First thanks i enjoyed both of your vibe videos.
    I bought my vibe 6 monthes ago and i love it, i first tried a lapierre esensium but due to broken suplly chains i could not get a regular vibe from orbea and i had to order a mid frame on the internet, it was the last one. No local shop had any and it was not available from Orbea at that time. Your review (your other video) is one of the video , among others, that made me decide.
    I m interested into gaining a few kilos, but for the wheel i don't how to do. How do you move the engine from wheel A to Wheel l B ?
    To change the ? crank (pedalier) you are using tools, are they expensive ?
    I will start changing the handlebar since anyway i wanted to cut it since it is too wide, and then the brakes if i find this tool to drag the ew cable into the cable-tubes. I m not too sure how to install news disk and brakes, the devices must be well aligned so it is not so trivial. Then the front wheel and for the rear one i wonder since the engine must be moved on the new wheel.
    Last it would be great if you could put a link toward the products : wheels models, tyres, cracnk, handle bar and this little cable to be able to put new cables easily.

    One video you talk why choose Orbea over Spec - because of price, then put $1k more into Orbea upgrade? :DDD

    • @TwistedWheels
      @TwistedWheels  Před 2 lety

      1) I didn’t choose Orbea because of the price.
      2) I’d do the same with Specialized if I had bought it.
      3) If you watch other videos on my channel, you’d quickly figure out - that’s what I do even with the expensive bikes. Because there are always ways to improve the performance and save weight over the stock configuration.

    Hi, very nice video, I have just bought an ampler curt with carbon belt drive, it weighs 13.5 kgs. Do you think I could save around 3 kgs also on that bike? Any suggestions? My knowledge of bike components and how to change them is close to zero.

    Зачетно, конечно. Но все таки затратно для электробайка, 3 кг при таком ассисте никак не влияют на усилия, которые прилагаются при катании. Или я не прав? У меня и нормальные байки., и с электроасстом в гараже
    Именно trek domane + испоьзую как комьюнити- байк, мотор 60 Nm ....чё там облегчать то при таком моменте крутящеи.
    Но за ролик реально спасибо!😎👍

    Great video mate. Got my Vibe Mid H30 two weeks ago in Australia and really enjoying it. I bought oem mudguards and pannier rack that come on EQ version and installed them myself. Not everything went as smoothly as it does in your video though 😆. Some strange squeaky sound is coming from rear wheel but it doesn't affect riding. Any thoughts? You have given me ideas on changing the tyres. Btw, how did you change the hub motor onto different wheel?

    • @TwistedWheels
      @TwistedWheels  Před 2 lety

      Thanks!
      I’d suggest taking the bike to the store while it’s on warranty.
      The motor hub is still a hub. So I just unbuilt the old wheel (removed spokes and rim) and re-built it on the new rim and spokes

      Try tightening the rear axle or very hard, some bike need it very tightly torqued or they will squeak.

    This bike is amazing . I’m borrowing a Vado sl 5.0 . Have you rode This ? I like it riding up hill but I’m just to out of shape to push hard past the limiter I have a allez and tarmac which I haven’t done
    Properly for years but do find on the flat I’m faster then with the Ebike . How do you find this bike when you get above the limiter ?

    • @TwistedWheels
      @TwistedWheels  Před 2 lety

      Like all e-bikes, after you hit the limit, they become a normal bike, but heavier and less efficient.

      I didn’t take the motor out. The motor is in the hub. I built the rear wheel using the original hub with the motor ;)
