No nasty comments about rattle cans. The work turned out just dandy!
Another very nice video. Thank you for sharing
great car and the best vocal impression ever of the holistic healer in the "cramp-bark" episode sienfeld show......
Nice work Sir. It turned out really good with the paint cans.
Outstanding
Really starting to get the wow factor now, great work as usual, 👍👍👍👍
Don’t worry about hater they will always negative comment . You are doing awesome keep the videos coming .
Thanks Muhammad, they are not worth my time to even pay attention to. I am glad you are enjoying the videos. That is whats important to me.
Looks good, I used a few rattle cans on some of my parts including the rear and it came out nice. Just have to take your time and it will come out right.
Perfect
I once new someone in the mid 1980s who painted their whole car with aerosol VHT paint. Painting an undercarrage doesnt have to be picture perfect and its easier than the hassle of setting up spraygins and then having to clean the paint out of the spray equipment after you finish. With aerosols its ready to spray and when finished junk the aerosol cans, to easy good on you bro that car is comming uot nice.
Outstanding video and great work taking the car to the next step... thank you for sharing!
Thanks Vintage, I really appreciate it :)
Looks great I use rattle can paint on everything and did a whole truck like that it turned out great and chassis paint I used it on my frame on my truck it’s looks awesome and holding up really good
Thanks Chris
I really appreciate your support of my channel.
Stay tuned, I just bought a Hugger orange Z and will be starting the video series on that car this week as well as continuing the rest of the assembly on the Lemans blue Z
@@digitalpizza1 that’s awesome that’s my favorite color hugger orange camaro
I shimed my rear end to reduce wheel hop....
Hello,
Enjoying your videos,
The radiator support kit you used looks like original, What brand did you use for your radiator support bushing kit or where did you get the set? Thanks
Hi Martin
I ordered it from Heartbeat City, be sure to choose the Assembly Line Correct Kit, it costs more but well worth it. The core support is from AMD, again, the best and a perfect match
I will be adding a new video in an hour from now
Thank You for the quick response.
I just watched video #10, So the AMD radiator support fit good, glad to hear that. I plan to replace the radiator support in my Plain Jane 69 Camaro.
I purchased a right AMD quarter panel for it and it’s been a challenge, fits great in some areas but very bad in other areas,
Thanks again!
What kind of primer did you use?
both the paint and the primer was Spies Hector. A German Paint that is a high end, very expensive paint. I believe it is Acrylic Enamel Base Coat Clear Coat
What brand of paint did you use on the body coler paint ,to me the base coat clear coat is to shiney ,its not how these cars looked back in the day
The paint used is Spies Hecker, its a German brand, very expensive, but amazing paint. It is a base coat clear coat, but I emphasized to the painter that I wanted it to look like the original acrylic lacquer that the car came in. He was able to mix the paint in such a way that it matched perfectly the original paint that was on the inner cowl area under the front fender. So it all depends how good the painter is in using the paint whether it looks like the original finish or not.
Would you powder coat the chassis?
Hi Marko, I was going to powder coat the chassis, but due to the lock down, the powder coating place I use was only working half the time, and I need to get the car out of the body shop and back to my shop. So, normally I would have preffered to powder coat, but the chassis was actually painted from the factory, so it's probably more accurate to paint it. I am very happy with the result anyway :) Thanks Marko
@@digitalpizza1 It's looking great!👍😎👍
Hard to believe only 2 bolts hold the subframe onto the body, also what size tires do you run on those rims
Hi Barry
Actually it’s 4 Bolts to the body, plus 2 at the core support. So the body has 2 under the firewall, and 2 about midway back, about where the door and quarter panel meet.
The tires are 255 60 15
@@digitalpizza1, I have a 69 and am ordering new tires. I had 215 60 15 on it. I am concerned about clearance issues going any larger than 235 60 15 on the front. Can you verify that the 255 60 15 that you used don't rub on the front end even at the end of steering wheel travel? Thank you.
Hi Danny, Thanks for the question. I actually made a mistake by putting the 255s on the car. They do rub a little on the sub frame. So I am going to either put 235s on the front and leave the 255s on the back, or put the 235s all the way around. I also will probably get a set of the Goodyear Polyglass GTs and put them on the car when entering it in shows for competition.
@@digitalpizza1, thanks for the info. I know 235 60 15s will. And now I know 255 60 15s won't. I wonder if 245 60 15s would work? My guess is you would have interference.
Rattle can jobs always look good initially, but they never hold up because the coat of paint is so thin.
That’s true if you only put one coat on. I put 3 to 4 coats. Which a lot more than the factory put on. I’m sure it will hold up just fine with the little bit of driving that this car will see
If I did that there would be black paint all over the floor.
Lots of elbow grease used in this video. lol. Bet you got close to a bottle of ibuprofen after that work out.
What brand and part number (if applicable) was the chassis black spray paint that you used? Is it the NAPA Technique MS 7243 Martin Senour Chassis Black? This one? www.napaonline.com/en/p/MSR7243?partTypeName=Spray+Paint&impressionRank=57&keywordInput=chassis+spray+paint
Hi Danny, Yes, that is the one I used.
@@digitalpizza1, thank you for the information.
