nice tutorial tho but you can make it easier and quicker by copying and pasting the brush paths onto the position of the hand and pen. Note: move the anchor point of the hand and pen to the tip of the pen.

A hint for you... You should have used Motion Sketch (window/motion sketch) to capture your mouse movement.. It would be faster to do the hand movement without creating keyframes :)

If i want to do animation of simple boxes shapes (not character animation, etc) just simple lines bending for logos, intros & outro graphics and that kind of thing. primarily flexing boxes, self drawing borders, bending text in custom manners etc, then which is a better option, AFTER EFFECTS or......ADOBE ANIMATE ? which one is more suited for this kind of work. This is mainly for video production work to use as overlays etc.

alt or cmd click on the position of the hand layer and drag the pick whip and drop it on the paint path... use the anchor point adjustment on the hand position layer to adjust the tip of the pen to the line

Did exactly that, but my hand is not following the brush path at all. I have set the anchor point to the tip of the pen.

Question, now say you’re drawing has a colored fill and you want to show how to draw black and white and then show it coloring that same drawing in with color. Is there a way to keep the black and white layer visible but then color it in?

Im missing something here I've spend the entire day following this video and I cant get oit to work. I double cvlick on the PSD layer traces the lines (in red as well) set the end keyframs and the alpha channels bu the trace line goes grey and the real drawing stays invisible. I cant get the drawing to show and the trace line to disappear.
