Perfect size for the UK. If it has generous leg room, 140mm seat height and weighs in at 145kg, they would have a real winner. Most people are over biked, too powerful, too heavy, too high. 390-400cc is the perfect antidote to all of this. Just make it reliable!!!

140 mil seat height or ground clearance? The LC4C Dukes have a ground clearance of 170 mm themselves; why would an adventure bike be lower??

I had the first gen 390 adventure. Enjoyed it overall, and found it fairly capable off-road. The one thing that I think they'll struggle to change is the gear ratios. Off-road, the 2nd gear was a little too short, and 3rd would bog down once you react to anything that changes your pace. Technically, I suppose it is possible, but not without compromising the acceleration, top end, and onroad experience, which I think they feel would make it less of a KTM ethos bike. They'll change other things like ergos, aesthetics, ground clearance and suspension, but without the engine changing it will still be hard work off-road.

I love mine I hear what you are saying does lack a some torque and gearing is a little odd.. hopefully the new 400 engine will address that.. happy with my little bike I can do much more than I can on my bigger bike

@@appymarley yep, I went for the 790 Adventure after, but I wouldn't be sad if I had to go back, which is saying a lot for it I think.

Apparently the test mule spotted in India is running on a 19in front while the mule in Europe sports a 21in.
I like the road oriented 390ADV that's currently on sale, hope there's a road going version with cast alloy wheels of this more off road oriented test mule.

Footpeg vibes/buzz spoils the ride on the 390, they need to work on that.

I use the rubber inserts for the pegs while on road. Also put bar end weights on it and it helped with the vibes.

We need good lower end torque.... The bike stalls too much at lower speed. Running in a city in India with a ktm 390 adventure is very difficult and tiring. Even bikes like Honda CB 300R are single cylinder bikes with fine tuned engines, it is enjoyable in city and highway too. To avoid stalling of ktm adventure, we need to rev the engine at higher rpm which causes excess vibrations on the bike.
We really need good lower end torque........

Get the knees well blow the hips and pegs lower and back to make standing better. The “enduro” stance is a major turn off for many. I’m doing mos to my 701 to achieve just that. The real killer is weight. How can the 690/701/700 be built to 145 kg dry yet these are still a lot more and why I went 690 in the UK and 701 here in the UK.

Guys pls better prepare yourself. There almost no value in this video. Theres plenty of other videos out that do a much better job on this topic.
You didnt even mention that there have been an ADV and an Enduro version spied. Also the front wheel in the video you have shown is 19" and not 21".
and obviously the new 390 ADV will be based on the new 390 duke.
