With Halloween just around the corner, what better time to make a magic wand?
Join us as we turn some very simple shapes on the Lathe and then switch to the Scroll saw to produce a Spiral cut handle. Why not make it your own by adding pyrography, stains, or resin?

Great instructional video for cutting a spiral. You made a awesome-looking wand!
Thank you so much 😀 Glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you for the demonstration! Fantastic technique!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching
For anyone who only came for a scrollsaw video, it starts after the 40:30 dowel turning video that the title makes no mention of.
Cast/fill the piece in resin and add several LED's and wow! Beautiful work, thank you for creating and sharing.
Neat. If thinking of doing this on larger pieces, fill with resin and then bore out 3.5" for vases. Montana Wood Art.
Excellent work
No sabía hacerlo. Ahora sí. Gracias.
Great looking wand lots of designs you could add 👍
Thanks Wayne. You can never have too many wands!
@@axminster According to my wife, I can have to many "play sticks", some people just don't get the seriousness of the matter 😞😛
Thanks for the info. But can't help but think it would be easier to have the jig 90 degrees then your hands aren't under the arm.
Thanks , I learned something new today, Never did spiral cut. What type of wood is best ? Pine , or hardwoods
Hi there, Ben says he had better end results with hardwood. The pine was easier to cut, but was a bit weaker with the short grain pattern. Hope this helps
You're really great 🙏👍
What is it for exactly?
If referring to the wand, it's a lovely decorative piece, a great project for practising skills, or a fun toy for budding witches and wizards! It can be whatever you want it to be!
