I bought a Scroll saw today, travelled to a distant place, just to get it. You will be one of my Mentors, Thank You!
😁 Awesome , never get tired of watching you create these creations .
This video is awesome. I just bought a cheap scroll saw at HFT and after using it to make a couple of straight cuts I jumped straight into trying this. Only ever used a scroll saw once before decades ago in shop class. But it came out great! Thanks for the awesome demonstration.
Thank you!
Excellent information and easy to follow direction. Learned tons of new information! My heartfelt thanks. 🙏
My mind kinda exploded when the swan fell out of the middle of that block. Thanks for sharing, this is super interesting.
This is a new trick to me, and I like it a lot. I'm thinking you could create the pattern with Photoshop using guides to perfectly align the two views, and even include an outline of the timber you are using. At the very least, you'd apply the pattern in one piece with a line to show the fold. I am definitely going to have a go, so thanks for sharing.
Love this video. Just found the channel and will be back to watch more soon!
HI Hans. Thanks. Great to watch Master Scrollers.
How neat!! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Hans, very good presentation and straight to the point. within 50 mins !
Thank You for the inspiration to get into the workshop, and try some 3D patterns.
Thanks Hans ... very informative/useful info in this video.I like the dust tray under your saw. Need to make one for my DW788!
Wonderful works
12:49 Sir, the peice you like so well is a center finder. It's to find center of one end of a round cylinder. Put the blade in and put it on the end of round bar. If will explain it's self. Also will find the center of a square.
Thank you for the lesson. You convinced me to finally get one.
Great Instruction Hans, as always. Thanks for this lesson and the tips. I will definitelly try 3D.
Thank you for a very interesting and informative video. I will certainly be having a go .
Enjoyed that! Thank you for sharing. - Dave
# David Macfadden, blades are stamped in manufacturing process, causes a burr to form on the sheared edge. I always say, "you can't go by the table". The precision ground blades are little more money but cut very true, I believe you can get a "gross", (12 dozen), about 35$. blades is one of the hardest things to ever learn about a scroll saw, I've been scrolling for 20+years and just used spiral blades for the first time, ya always learning. hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

I need to find a copy of that quote!
Great job explaining, I never knew you could do 3D
Ty very much you have given me a lot of ideas
Thanks for the info. Great presentation I learned a lot .
Objects with two-images in one are called "ambigrams." I've been 3D printing them for years...can't wait to try it on the new scroll saw.
waouh, magnifique, superbe leçon , merci beaucoup
Quite interesting,I have a jigsaw and those round blades, sounds like you could make a few of these and it would be fun.
i could watch this man scroll anything.
i was feeling a bit sick and was going to stay home today, then i started watching this video. gotta love it thanks Hans
Great vid thanks. Very inspiring.
Thank you! Hans enjoys doing 3D figures.
Can you use that scroll saw to cut 3mm thick metal? If so, what size blade and speed?
Nice video sir 👍
Learned so much and never heard about 3d scrolling. Yes, I’m a beginner! Thank you.
mind blown, now I have to buy a scroll saw dang, I have spent too much money on this hobby lol
please could you tell me why my pin blade keeps going to the left, with all types of soft wood and hardboard, even the tension is right up on it and working very slow aswell, and yes i'm new at scrolling i'm afraid.....thank you .....
The most likely cause of your left turning blade is the brand of blade. Certain brands of blades are stamped out and when the mold gets a bit worn, the blade doesn't want to cut straight. Try a different brand of blade. My personal favorite is Flying Dutchman (for quality and consistency.)
Mr. Hands congratulations
Wow! Amazing. Great video. I got a question: can I use my Dremel Scroll Saw to do the 3D figures?
Hi Hans. You seem to be able to cut through the material a hell of a lot faster than I can. I also seem to need to put a lot more pressure on the material than you. Can you advise?
"you can do anything you want" is why i woodwork

I am very much interested in the 3D bowtie. I've tried searching for the patterns but have not found.

Scotch Magic Tape has a matte finish, less glare likely.

why does your blade not slap the piece up and down on the table like mine does?
hold it down? its just practise. for beginners there are some hold downs available (doesnt work with 3d sawing)
Hi were do you buy the template for the your wood or do tham your salf
can you get templates for some of these makes atall please
Hello, where can the books shown here be purchased? Are they on the GWA site? Or can you provide the ISBNs for them? Thanks!
Hans where do you get the patterns for 3d work.
How do I cut a straight line when using puzzle blades. Seems awful hard since their so small. Thanks
Ya really cool, And i originally thought with scroll saws you could only do 2d Letter or pattern design cut outs. Wow but using the projections of 90 deg you can do almost any 3d wood model/sculpture Your only limited by the size of the scroll saw blade. I am wondering if for large project like a 6ft wood statue if one has a bigger version of a scroll saw to do the same principal to bigger magnitudes then just small figurines. It have to be even bigger then a normal size band saws even.
It would work that way. Let us know if you find that saw out there!
@@gwinnettwoodworkers Will do, curious did you ever try using a good hand held router in place of a scroll saw? I am wondering if you can get reasonable good 2d objects out of a old router you had lying around say with an appropriate bit. Obviously all the different cnc based machines its a different story but something about those makes it not so handcraft.
Hans where can I get the saying that you put in your booth, I have people who bikers about a price
Cool!
excelente gracias
Loved your video and I am very much interested in the small free standing 3D birdhouse and bird and the 3D bowtie. I've tried searching for the patterns but have not found. Do you have these patterns - Can I get them from you OR Can you tell me where I get them? Thanks. JLutterman
Scroller magazine the one that comes in the mail small size and one comes one day and another in a couple of days.
Wow!
Hans what do you have taped down on the table of you saw and why
I'm sure you know this by now but it is just a thin piece of wood or a piece of manila file folder that is essentially a zero clearance plate. Eliminates bumps and catches over the factory baseplate which has more clearance to make it easier to install/change blades. Also keeps small cut pieces from falling through.
Wandefull vary!
Mr Hans. Your Video Of Making The Air Balloon Is Great . Do You Have Templates To get For FREE . Thank You For Sharing.
Where did you get the mini birdhouse 3 d patterns?
What you can do with your scraps is put them on wood and spray paint them and make silhouettes ..
where to find these books in Brazil? tks

@@johnmillspaugh2129 oh let me see if I can find something
I found a few on Pinterest.com on the search type 3D scroll saw moose pattern
@@yvonneschimmel453 I have looked through all of those and appreciate your time and help. Most of those are not 3d out of a single block of wood. I would like to find one like this one that was made by a guy free hand: i.pinimg.com/236x/66/54/89/665489feba41b466d61b4ee71358a613.jpg
u can do this on the bandsaw too , i make spoons in this fashion
As long as there are no inside cuts you can do most scrollsaw projects in a larger form with a band saw.

O.K,O.K?
i think he should trim his thumbnail with the scroll saw
Interesting, I'm thinking chess set.
This is perfect for chess sets. I have a beautiful set on display. There are several You Tube videos that show each piece.
You should really control the duration of your videos.
People dont like to watch hour long videos.
GWA is presenting to a in room audience of around 30 or 40 people. True we are unlike most other CZcams videos but we can't deal with that many people and keep it down to 20 minutes. Making videos in our own shops with everything in the right place and organized goes much faster than working out of a box that we bought in. I hope you enjoyed the video and maybe got something out of it.
Of course I enjoy your videos, but I often switch off after 20, 30 minutes because the videos are too long. Besides I need information a bit more concentrated and less dragged on an on.
Break it up you are watching on CZcams. You do not have to watch the whole thing at once.
No one cares, dude. It's a free video provided for free by people who want to help the craft.
If you don't like it, don't watch it, it's not like they're losing money by not catering to you.
Nonsense... many of us have more than a 5 minute attention span and want to see a full lecture.... those with short attention spans can watch it in pieces, speed up the playback or find something else to watch...
For that video, not more than 20 minutes would be an appropriate length
Not when you are really interested, it is a master class!
