@@xocomaox it’s much better quality than the ones you can get on Amazon. I experienced so much crashing and terrible visual and audio experiences with the original one I bought that I returned it and never did a video on it. The upgrade is pricey, but in my opinion worth it.

I was curious if I an MMI box or any android/carplay retrofit would break the functionality of the Holographic Mini Heads up display? was also wondering if it would be possible to install the 8.8 inch display on my non nav 6.5 NBT unit with the MMI box? I dont mind not having touch screen if the idrive controls work

Does it automatically switch to rear view camera? i've seen 300-350eur touch screen capable alternatives. This is too expensive, hope it auto switches to rear cam when you put to rever gear.
MMI units that work with the touch aspect part of the screen? I didn't think they worked that way, but maybe I am wrong. It does auto switch to the rear cam.

Thanks for watching! Yeah I agree there is lots of cool features already and you don’t have to worry about loosing them as this just piggybacks off the signal. You just hold down ok on the idrive controller to switch back and forth between the systems.
is this possible on electric mini cooper SE? what is ridiculous is it is 2024 and BMW still does not support android auto. my 2015 cooper S has had android auto for many years after I tore out the stereo and bought a chinese one.

It shouldnt break that functionality. I think you can upgrade the display however may need some coding.
Does the touchscreen still works while using Android Auto?
Unfortunately it doesn’t. It just uses the display and idrive controller signal
Do I get the car information on the radio still? Like when to change oil etc
It’s just piggybacking off the screen and idrive signal. You still have access to your idrive system when you want it

is it posiible to connect wirelss android auto with a dongle in the usb connector in the F56 ?
With the mmipro unit, I think you can connect with USB, however it supports wireless android auto so you should not have to
I have HK in the car, how is the audio quality if you were to use this interface?
I have not tested it but it shouldn’t be too different as I believe hk uses an external amp
