    Thank you so much for this! I like how the problems have plenty of space below them. I think I'm going to try this for my 9th grader (with dyslexia) who needs simple, uncluttered pages.

    We're exploring this math for my son's upcoming 10th grade year. It is encouraging that there is a focus on how the student is thinking about math...that is more than half the battle, for sure. I'm encouraged to hear your son has improved with this program. 😊

    Great review and walk-through! I was on the fence for this curriculum and now I see it will be perfect for my son. Thanks!

    I’m really excited to try this! My 9th grader has struggled so much with math. Thank you for the recommendation. It looks like it was Made for ADHD.

    This was soooo helpful! Thank you so much! My son hates math and we have tried so many different courses. Hoping this is the winner.

    Thank you for this information and flip through. I feel very confident now with my decision to use Dennison.

    Thank you for this information! My daughter struggles with her confidence and just shuts down. Some days end in tears. How long would you say that average video is? Also is this considered secular or religious? Thank you!

      My son says the videos are about 15-20 minutes. They follow along doing the notes with the video. As far as I can tell this curriculum has no religious content. It does not mention anything I can find on the website, I don't recall any in the parent guide, and my son says it hasn't mentioned anything so far.

    Is this a spiral or mastery curriculum? Love your review❤thank you

    • @homeontheplains

      Denison is a mastery curriculum although at the end of most assignments there are just a few review questions and it tells the student which lesson they are from, so they can go back and review the lesson if they need to. Here is an article from Denison explaining why he uses the mastery approach for struggling math students: www.denisonalgebra.com/blog/pickingmathcurriculum

    Hello! I was just wondering if you had tried Saxon along the way. Thank you!

    • @homeontheplains
      @homeontheplains  Před 11 měsíci +1

      We have not tried Saxon. My kids struggle with math and from everything I have heard about Saxon, I never thought it would be a good fit for them. We have tried: Math-U-See, Horizon, Beast Academy, Life of Fred, and Math Lessons for a Living Education, and I am currently trying out Learn Math Fast with my daughter. Math-U-See and Math Lessons for a Living Education are the ones we have used repeatedly and seemed to work at times, not at others. Denison has by far been the best fit, but my daughter is not yet ready for pre-algebra which is their lowest level.

    Would this course be possible to complete without the online videos? Could the student or parent get the information needed from the student book?

    • @homeontheplains
      @homeontheplains  Před rokem +2

      I think it would be very difficult without the videos. The student book is not like a textbook. There is not really written instruction, the instruction comes from the videos. The example problems in the notebook are just the equations and they work through how to solve them while watching the videos. There are only some quick review pages about each chapter, but that isn't detailed instruction.

      @@homeontheplains thanks for the reply! I went to the website and looked at all the samples. It’s fantastic! I will be using the algebra this fall for one of my children. Thanks for highlighting this program b/c I never heard of it and this is our 10th year homeschooling.

    Great information! Currently considering for2023-2024. Is there any way to contact the company? So far no response from email sent.

      I have not tried to contact the company, but I have heard that Mr. Denison is very helpful! I wonder if maybe being the end of school year and when many people are purchasing for next year, they are just swamped so it may take a little longer for them to get back to you. The only contact information I found was this e-mail address: support@denisonalgebra.com They also have a Facebook page, you might try contacting them through Facebook.
