Defanging the Snake is a method of targeting the weapon hand of your opponent. Once the weapon hand is destroyed, the fang or weapon can no longer be held. You have the choice of finishing the snake off, or letting the snake go o 🐍

Well said. I never understood why some instructors will call their reaction hand or non weapon hand a sacrificial hand. One good hit on the hand and you'll wish you were never in the fight.
