You're bringing back memories papa. My dad and I tinkered with a bunch of those old TBI units. Throttle body injection is actually really reliable, but you are correct in that the early ECU's were unreliable. We used to do 4100 ECU swaps on the early 368 system; I agree that carb is probably the best way to go on the 368 tho. Later TBI units were too restrictive, and couldn't meet the fuel demands. Today, technology is at a point where you could probably run a 368 on an aftermarket TBI system and make decent power and reliability, but you lose the originality. Nice to see guys still tinkering with the old "technology era" Caddys
Ray, your ingenuity reminds me of my high school auto shop teacher in the early 80's. He was a old school hot rodder & racer who instilled in us the junkyard had everything we needed. And fabrication could make any part fit & function.
No video... but it's extremely simple. Just run a positive(12 volts) and negative(-ground) to each solenoid and a switch to cut power when you want to run in full V8 mode.
@thunderjet4294 not sure on 6 cylinder mode... I run only on 4 cylinder mode for economy (all solenoids activated) ....and V8 mode when I need smooth power.
Hello friend I was wondering if you happen to have the part number to the carburetor adapter and to the distributor that I would need for my 1981 Fleetwood 6.0 thank you In advance 🙏🏽
Vice Grip Garage just released a video of trying to resurrect an 1981 Cadillac Deville. Unfortunately, it did not go well. Perhaps you could reach out to Darrel and offer your assistance.

Hey Ray. Im having a trouble finding a intake for my 80 that Im converting to carb. Any help would be appreciated.
Any chance I can send you my manifold to convert for me?
Would you mind sharing the aluminum quadrajet intake part number please?

So do you have a video that shows the hook up of the 468 to switches?

@@raysoto1969 thank you and which ones need to be activated for 6cyl and 4 cylinder mode

Part number 4412 for the adapter from TBI to 2 barrel carb. Then get an HEI distributor for a Cadillac 500... yes, it will fit the 368

Brother, what intake us best when converting 79 seville to carburetor.
If it has the 5.7 EFI engine, then the Edelbrock performer Olds intake would be the best for overall performance.
What car has the carb on the left ?
