The Torsion is an unabashed fuzz full of gnarly, splatty, ever-changing textures thanks to a unique IC-based analog circuit. 3 gain stages give you an enormous range of tones to play, not just one usable setting like vintage fuzzes. Departing quite a bit from your standard fuzz, the Torsion doesn’t care where its placed in your signal chain and is armed with an interactive set of tone controls for a wider variety of sound. A Tilt EQ adjusts highs and lows while a dedicated midrange control boosts or cuts mid to match with your rig and even helps darker tones dominate your mix.
The main attraction with the Torsion is its gated fuzz tones. Even with the gate off, the pedal is armed with filtering to avoid power supply hum and RF interference. With the linear gate on, it immediately tightens up the attack and keeps single coils silent. Turning up the gate gets you into starved, dying battery fuzz tones that bloom and morph as they fade out to silence. Lastly, the output is enough to boost any amp into overdrive and has an output buffer stage with a consistent 10k impedance to match with other pedals after it. Like all Dirty Haggard pedals, the Torsion is built one at a time by musicians and uses high quality materials to last a lifetime on stage or in the studio.

For a broke, dirt junkie like myself, Dirty Haggard is making the BEST stuff!! I bought a $70 (or so) pedal from them on reverb that was So good I immediately, without hesitation knocked the spaceman Gemini4 off my board. Then I tried their Demonic Percolator and now that also has a permanent home (in place of DBA evil Fuzz). It is such a trip to stack these with other dirt pedals and not be bombarded with shit noise every time I stop playing for a second.
The bliss factory is cool and all but whenever I kick it on I have to stop and fiddle with controls. With their “3904” every time I kick it on it just kills! I bet if any of my other favorite builders dreamt up that circuit they would no doubt be charging 6-8 times as much $. I just wish I had found them sooner.
