NYS&W SU-99 crosses during rush hour, makes drivers angry

- This video was shot at the Hamburg Turnpike crossing in Riverdale New Jersey
After a harsh winter, i was able to get back to this crossing to catch the 99 and seeing that this is a busy road, when the 99 does come through, it makes drivers very angry.

Signal on Right: 2 pairs of WC Hayes LED 12X24 inch lights. A WC Hayes Gate motor and a WC Hayes Electronic Bell.
Signal on Left:
1 Fabricated Metals Cantilever with 4 pairs of WC Hayes LED 12X24 inch lights.
The gate signal has a WC Hayes Gate motor electronic Bell.

Look Out For The Train Mathews Ave is Notorious for malfunctions.
On that road, near a highway exit? That won't end well if it hits during rush hour.

This is what get people so fed up about all the time! But I have a clever plan. They should build a bridge right next to the crossing over the tracks so the drivers WON'T get so fed up. Like, they'd build it on one side of the crossing and finish it on the other. They should do the same on the other lane as well.
+Angie H You have a good idea Angie, but it most likly won't happen. The town of Riverdale wont spend all that money to build an overpass, just because the crossing gets a little busy. Plus the train action here is not that frequent enough to warrent a bridge. I see your point and agree, but the likely hood of that happening is very slim.

Mathews Ave the next RXR Crossing West of this RXR Crossing (Paterson-Hamburg Turnpike) doesn't do that

I would be willing to say that the railroad was there before the hiway was built . Raise the taxes 10% & build an over-pass so all of the whinners could drive over the over-pass and would not have to stop a few minutes for a train to pass .

The railroad crossing was operating normal, its just some cameras sometimes cause a fade in LED lights in certain points of a video.
Nope WCH modules are crap so they do a full fade out and fade in unlike Safetran or any other good brand.
WCH EBells are also turds in a metal shell. If I worked on a railroad I'd replace every piece of WCH equipment possible and sell it to collectors. Safetran and GS eBells are better (except the rare Safetran type 1 bell, that one is way too quiet and sounds awful).
I hate WCH e-bells, however WCH m-bells are my favourite common m-bells. Believe it or not, but Safetran Type 1 e-bells are my favourite e-bell. WCH dotted LED's are my least favourite lights. All other LED's are ok. I like all incandescent lights, including WCH.
WCH MBells are decent but I like the RACO ones better
+realimbored668 WCH has better mechanisms than Safetran. As you see the videos from Railfan Cal that those safetran mechanisms sound loud and annoying. Fruitridge are and 2nd Ave had fast gate drop problems

no, they are not stupid, the train passed through during Rush Hour which makes people mad
is anyone else tired of the graffiti? Looks like sh!t and it's almost become part of the normal railroading landscape.
