    About this video
In this video Zane from Audio Tech TV (formerly Simple Green Tech) looks at 7 settings you should change in Tracktion Waveform to power up your Tracktion Waveform experience. I started using waveform and I like it too. It makes me feel like it’s done by passionate people. Same as studio one. But SO still my favorite daw. Also I’m still learning waveform

Same here! I'm a SO user too but I've switched to WF on the side before I completely make the switch. So far I'm really impressed! I've tried the UA Luna free that they released recently too but, its really intuitive but for a free DAW that has a lot of features WF really takes the cake compared to Luna (for now)

P.S. Regarding the repeat-playback-position thing, i myself use the timeline "bracket" feature (forgot what it's called), & just enable loop to playback that particular segment. Because i'm 1 of those who'd prefer the default cursor to continue playing forwards.

I think -3db is sme kind of normalization setting. I t's like a choice or something in various DAWs. Everytime I watch one of your vids on Tracktion makes me more and more want to try something with it. I have an older version. Not sure which version I've downloaded it and placed in my VST storage drive along with some other DAWs. I have tons of money in vested in REASON over the years but more and more I hate the way it handles adio files. It's a "beat" program and I don't do beats. Time for a big change and while other DAWs are interesting this looks like something I want to try. Great videos on this and I'll re-watch them. Thanks Zane.

@@AudioTechTV A few things hold me back from using it full time: 1. With Reaper, I can absolutely ABUSE the track count -Haven't had as much success with doing this in Waveform. It tends to get bogged down rather quickly in my experience. 2: Undo and Redo functions don't apply to plugin parameters, which is a huge bummer for me because with my mixing style I'm constantly undoing and redo-ing and experimenting and going back and forth... 3rd thing is that I use a big mixture of old 32 bit plugins and 64 bit plugins. So, I'm a bit more limited as to what I can do in the mix if I'm just using Waveform because of the lack of a bridge... But -for ease of use and for all things editing, Waveform gets ten stars. I find Reaper much too complex to edit with... Cheers -Your channel has been instrumental in my mixing journey!

  • @bubuAudio

I would normally keep that -3dB setting 😊
usually on a STEREO track you end up having a signal higher ( L+R sum ) than if it was a MONO track .
You would apply that kind of -3db correction ( halves the energy ) on all STEREO buses, to compensate amplitute "build up" in the mix ( where you also have mono tracks that sound as they where intended )
    If I'm right 😊

Been trying to audition Waveform (as well as Reaper) in anticipation of the pricing of Cakewalk, and I can't seem to get the VST screen to close out and I am not sure what I am supposed to do with the screen that's open. I only have 2 32 bit plugins, one of them being Redtron, the Mellotron vst as I cannot afford any of the paid options. Any idea why I can't get past this in the set up or what I am doing wrong? thanks in advance.

      @@AudioTechTV Thanks for your work.
Things were a little difficult without such informative videos on CZcams .
Particularly for beginners who know well how to play an instrument but don't know how to work on a DAW .
I have seen people who know how to operate DAW and they are making music and they are not good musicians.
They are still making good music and people are listening them.
I think it matters if a good musician masters a DAW.

    • @AudioTechTV
      @AudioTechTV  Před 7 měsíci +1

Click on the audio clip that you’ve dragged in. Open the full bottom menu/properties area. After you’ve clicked on the audio clip you’ll see a tab in the bottom menu called Loop properties. Click on that and then un check auto-pitch and auto-tempo. It will then go back to the way the audio originally sounds.

And it's my only selection either that one or 3/4. Either way The problem is the same. If I want to record bass. Then on the track I just recorded the bass on. I can still hear guitar and drums and everything else even if that track is solo It's still lighting up showing that there are instruments playing (on a new armed track ) when i'm not playing anything. How do I fix this so I can have one instrument per track?

First go into settings, and then into the audio devices section and you'll see a list of your inputs and outputs. click on input 1 and down at the bottom you'll see a little box that says "treat as stereo pair". Make sure that is unchecked. And do that for all your inputs. Also make sure they are all enabled.
If that isn't the problem. Make sure you haven't changed the output of each track to output to other tracks or inputs.
