Yes, it can be scary! Trimming back your Supertunias this time of year will actually result in healthier plants you can enjoy well into Autumn. Here's how!
If you only have a few plants, you can take what you cut off and break or cut some off the leggy off then stick the good parts in another container and they will grow and continue to bloom. It fills in some gaps in other containers or makes a new container. I do this a lot since I don’t have that many of them and my budget doesn’t allow purchasing a lot of these. 🌺
I did this in my back yard and looked like a psycho to my neighbours , I was butchering and enjoying it … maybe I am a psycho 😂). But my petunia was not a petunia anymore but a leggy monster ready to start walking around the yard , lol. ..yes definitely psycho 🤔 .
I'm very lucky - Over the years, my backyard rabbit friends have developed quite a taste for Proven Winners supertunias and they do a very nice job of keeping the potted plants trimmed when the overhang gets too close to the ground. Young cottontails seem especially fond of supertunias so it is a win-win for all concerned!

great video, but would be even better if you showed the plant a few weeks after you have trimmed them! ;)

We bought Two flowering petunia plants. I knew how to deadhead but I wanted my daughter to watch it. Thank you. Love my plants. 😊
i always laugh when people say they are going to take 20% off and its really more like 50%
Today is first day i see PINK on all 5 plants
Looks like she took off way more than 20% though...
I did this yesterday, it was painful lol
Can you tell us what kind of fertilizers you just used? It'll be nice to list products you use in description below. Thx in advance.😉
