@@mx41514 Add to that his attempt to push through a policy that would allow the overriding of the Supreme Court of Israel's decisions he didn't like; His irresponsible decision to prop up Hamas just to counter the Palestinian Authority; and the behavior in the West Bank of his loyal religious zealots who continue to be the reasons for the BDS movement. These are added reasons for him to step down or be removed from power.
It is not in Israel's interest to prioritize the hostages over victory. No party in a war surrenders because the other side has taken prisoners.
I told an FB Israeli ePal it was my opinion that it was in Netanyahu's best interest to keep the war going to keep him out of jail. His whole attititude to me has changed! There's a whole segment of Israeli society that backs Bibi just as ours backs Trumps even though they are both criminals!

Netanyahu and his political allies helped prop up HAMAS, that’s a known fact. He understands that as long as he’s in power, he can’t be prosecuted for the corruption charges against him.

First off, Israel is a sovereign nation. The US cannot close any deal between Israel and Hammas. Hammas is also a sovereign entity, but not a nation, and is willing to let other countries do the negotiating.
We need to remember, though it's not being mentioned, that Israel's military philosophy is that soldiers taken hostage are considered KIA. It would not surprise me if the political part of Israel's government privately considers civilian hostages the same way. They'll talk about bringing them home, but aren't really interested. After all, a dead hostage garners more support for the continuation of the war.
Israel doesn't have the greatest economy, without constant American money,they would not survive.
As if the American hostages are the only ones who count 😮

I don't like Netanyahu but this woman is out of touch. Hamas has over 140 hostages, from different nationalities. What Israel should do to free them? Return to prior 1967 borders? allow the return of 5 million permanent refugees? free all terrorists? She should ask Hamas and the US State Department to free her relatives.
