Most motorcycle fuel tanks are directly above the engine and I know from personal experience that hot headers will not ignite fuel, it just evaporates. It will, however, work great to degrease your engine. It's not a bug, it's a feature.
Gas is a detergent
Just keep the fuel away from the distributor, I know this because I burned my first aircooled VWs van to a scrisp when the fuel line from the secondary tank broke squinting fuel on it and igniting.

That thing is awesome, keep up the great work! I was at least partially inspired by your work to build something cool, but I don't quite have the resources to build something from scratch so I built a DF Goblin kit car over the summer. It's pretty much a street legal go-kart. I've been driving to work whenever it's nice out, and we've had some amazing weather this week for November in MN. I haven't run into any "Karens" around here, everywhere I go people absolutely love this thing. I get thumbs up all the time, people taking pictures, even had people ask to take their picture with the car. You'd think I was driving a Lambo or something. Nope, I built it in my garage for way less than you'd pay for most new cars. It's an absolute blast to drive and the feeling you get from driving something you built yourself is just awesome.

It is the same color as your, but a four seater. I love it. Even though it is "street legal", I live in Texas and I can not register it here....Bummer. But I love it and it is a very cool ride. Make a video on how to up and down shift a VW base Dune Buddy like a tubular or meyer manx type buggy. 👍🏻
You could put a phone mount and use wayz for an easy Speedo. Known a number of people did that instead of fixing a broken one.

It’s not exactly a buggy cage but you could look into Exocets, they’re a Miata based kit car that you could do a lot of modifications to very easily.

Hi Casey, I am a Huge Fan of you Channel and i am watching from down in Australia so please keep up the Great Work! I was just wondering when you may get around to Modifying your Dune Buggy so you could separate the Cabin Area from the rear Engine Bay, so your Wife can ride in the Dune Buggy without having to worry about the Engine or any of the Accessories deciding to eat your Wife's hair? As you could use something like Aluminum behind the seats and a Perspex Screen to divide the Engine Bay from the Cabin but still allow rear Visibility through the Perspex Rear Screen, and the Aluminum would match all the polished aluminum throughout the the Dune Buggy like the places like the Floor and such so it all blends into the Original Design of your Dune Buggy!
