If L-Mount Alliance achieves to have more brands on board then could be a great standard. The lenses are fully compatible and fully interchangeable from brand to brand in L-Mount. Now with Samyang there will be more alternatives (i want the 135mm Samyang). It could be great if Pentax enter the mirrorless game with L-Mount, or even Olympus enter the full frame game in L-Mount. They have menus, color science, UI, engineering solutions, desing languaje, etc, only need a mount and Pentax an usable AF. Even L-Mount could bring some chinese brand to fill the entry and mid level lenses or cameras (Viltrox and others).
YESS i want that Samyang 135mm as well! Keen to see what Samyang comes out with first. I suspect it will be ther 35-150mm but I want that 135mm so bad haha
is 8.16 the correct order? ciz I just saw a review of Sam and there it semms like sony are having pink hue.... this is opposite. wonder which one is coorect ? thnx
you didn't mention that the Lumix has a fan to prevent overheating in hot locales.

I have the A7R mk4 sony and find its 2 cameras in 1. Full frame and APSC. (26 mmegapixels ) The camera really is fantastic.
Absolutely! For photography the R4 and R5 is just 🤌🏻
The Sony's advantage seems to be the Creator's App, which allows you to receive the image on an iPad and perfectly manage the focus with an assistant with a lens that of course works in autofocus or manual mode with an internal motor, so there's no need to add an external motor. I can't find the Panasonic equivalent anywhere.

Like them both but would go for the Lumix if i had to swap from my Canon R3 and R6 MKII by the way that would be another good choice we should all do a comparison with those too ! 😅

Why would you want to switch with such a nice setup?! Seems like the R6 II is an amazing camera and not limited to 10fps like with the Sony.

What do you think about the raw quality and colors in S5IIX? Seems like Panasonic is baking more noise reduction in the raws, Canon seems to me more detailed but noisy.
Panasonic future could be decided in next firmware updates and with the lauch of the new S1 line. It's time to wait.
Raw quality is fine, i don’t think there’s any more or less noise compared to the Sony. If anything, the noise is more noticeable but that’s down to pixel density so it’s irrelevant.
Colours - they’re nice! It’s something I didn’t want to mention in the video as it’s entirely down to personal taste. There’s some photos (and video) that looks really nice on the Lumix, others I prefer the Sony and no doubt would look equally as good on a Canon

Or maybe, u and Sam Holland can do a duet together as your traipsing across the moat bridge to the Castle. Of course, u guys have Castles Over there in the northern part of the Kingdom of Castles. By the way, we need more shots of Knights, Armor , Sword Fighting, Tournaments. Besides the misty, gloomy winters of the British Isles, what else was there for the Medieval guys & gals to do, other than battles in France, Burgundy, etc. and oh yeah, the Crusades. So give us the real feel with soundtracks of "Danny Boy," in future camera reviews! 😎😎
I think listening to customers is typical of the underdog brands. That’s what Fuji used to do and I think do less and less. When looking at switching from Fuji, I looked at both Sony and Lumix and finally went for Sony (a7r5) essentially for the lens line up and autofocus performance where Lumix is still lagging behind. Also because I’m more into still than video. My wallet would have felt much better had I gone for Lumix….
Well that’s exactly it, the lens lineup isn’t there for me either yet. But if i was to switch all of my lenses and bodies for Lumix (apart from the ones i couldn’t directly replace) i’d have a few thousand in the bank

Depends what you are doing, but love a 35mm prime

35 mm prime is the 1st choice for video.
But hopefully there will be anamorphic lenses
with auto-focus from Sirui for L-Mount
within the next year.
35mm, 50mm and 85mm(i wish they will make 110mm hehe)
if the lumix had like atleast 40mp it would be an option to replace a7rv

Nikon Z7ii user, and for less money you get so much more with the Lumix it’s kind of frustrating the Nikon might win in terms of photography but on the video side it’s a joke and you have to go Z8 for >$4k plus very little after market lens support
Mate, I feel you! Sony isn't quite in the same boat as Nikon but yeah, it's tough when Lumix are smashing it out the park. Huge shame with Nikon, the image has always been really nice with Nikon but I feel like they are so behind with things. Fingers crossed they up their game to help their users
Lumix is ASS with firmware updates.... the S5 has not been updated since November 2022.
